  Have stayed here twice, once in 2016 and once in 2023 and had a good experience both times. The location is great, only a short 7-10 minute walk to Kyoto station and within a few minutes walking distance of several bus routes. For the price you're paying (something like 2800 Yen a night) you'll get the basics; a room, bed and shared bathroom facilities. Everything seemed clean. The hostel staff are also helpful and will recommend locations to visit and restaurants to try. They also helped us make a reservation at a restaurant by calling up and booking the time and date we requested. If you're just looking for an affordable place to stay that'll give you the basics, is located in a good location and has helpful staff then look no further.

  Location was good as it was about a 7 minute walk from JR Kyoto Station. The bed spaces were not clean. There was so much dust everywhere. I was on a bed at the bottom (a poorly put together frame with the thinnest mattress I've ever seen. (You can feel the wood through the mattress), the curtains were very dusty like they haven't been washed since they were put up. The quilt smelt and you weren't provided a quilt cover, just a sheet they asked you to put on you before you put the quilt on top of you? I suffer with really bad allergies and this place made me quite unwell. When I looked down the side of the bed and the cabinet, the wall and floor was thick with dust/fluff. When you turn on the lamp provided you can see it all floating around. We only stayed there 2 nights and couldn't wait to leave to be honest. The top bunk is a large wooden frame which seems like it has seen better days. Very creaky, nothing is fixed to the floor so when my partner would get up onto her top bunk the whole platform on stilts was moving. I dont think it's very safe especially if you're on the larger side. Overall I wouldn't reccomend staying at this hostel unless you are absolutely OK with roughing it.

  5mins from the station, that's the biggest advantage. Service was bad, locker room was a plus, rooms weren't set up and regarding the price I would expect a bit more than that.

  My stay here was short but very enjoyable thanks to Koki-san! His hospitality was amazing from having conversations in English and addressing our concerns. The location is a great value for the rooms, close to Kyoto Station, and service. A great place if you want to try a room with tatami mats and futons!

  Pretty standard for a Hostel. Super thin mattress on a wooden bunk bed that you make up yourself. Shared showers and toilets on each floor. Kitchen/Dining/Lounge on ground floor. Location is near 2 different bus routes and you can walk to the train station (but I wouldn't with luggage). A couple of restaurants around the corner and a convenience store across the street. Showers and toilets did seem clean and were lockable while in use. ¥100 for towel rental.
