The food was really amazing and the service was exceptional, but I would say that if you were to reach here the location is not ideal and the the hotel is also very old with poorly designed rooms.

It's a great place to experience the mountains and nature while staying for a night, but there's no other advantage than that. I've never seen a place without rinsing, with expensive prices, just that kind of food, and towels for extra money. The facilities are the worst.

Beautiful location in the mountains, around 10 min drive from Shirakawago village. Rooms were simple but super clean and cozy, we had a lovely stay. Indoor and outdoor onsen were both very nice. Loved the loungewear, tea etc. We were there for the winter illumination lights up as part of a tour and it added to the entire experience.

A beautiful location which is only a few minutes drive to Shirakawa. There arent many things to do in the evening, but the hotel does have a small shop to buy beer and cup noodles! Staffs were pleasant, and the rooms were in good size. Not many people stayed whilst we were there on a Friday night, but I guess people would only do a day trip to Shirakawa rather than stay over overnight. Overall, a good experience with the hotel. We had half board (French food). Foods were delicious and came out promptly, one after another. Breakfast was a buffet. The hotel has an onsen, and it has both indoor and outdoor space.

A great hotel in the Shirakawa-go area. The food was delicious and featured the famous-in-Japan Hida beef. Staff were friendly and helpful. The building is modeled after the grass-roofed houses, but the rooms and roof are fully insulated, warm, and have really nice layouts and view. There are also many activities you can sign up for, including snow shoe hikes (even OK for young children) and others. The hot spring baths are also fantastic, especially the outdoor one where you can luxuriate in hot water, stare up at the stars and feel the snow falling on your face in winter.
