  We've enjoyed our stay with the Ryokan. Although English is not well understood for all the staff, we were respectfully accommodated and assisted by Prabin. Nansuikaku should be proud to have such service-minded personnel.

  Excellent onsen! There are many room types (individually named) and the photos on their website were very accurate. First time, we stayed in Sekirei room (western and Japanese-style beds) while the 2nd time, we stayed in Fukuchi room (only Japanese-style beds) and loved it! Food was outstanding, service is impecable. They do have a couple of English-speaking staff which helped

  I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. This ryokan cancels the individual bookings if they want to provide rooms for other customers without any appropriate notices. BOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK. I have booked a room from 10/20 to 10/21 for my japan trip. The whole plan was arranged upon the booking of this ryokan, since I was fully aware of the fact that you have to place a booking 2-3 months prior to the actual stay to get the firm booking of your stay. My plan was to stay in Tenjin Fukuoka from 10/16 to 10/20, and move to the ryokan for my already booked stay. On 10/12, the ryokan called me via international translation service and mentioned that 70 Korean group tourists placed bookings so we may not be able to enjoy “Japanese” atmosphere. They asked if I want to keep the booking and since it was a short notice, I did not have any other option but to say yes. On 10/16 evening, when I and my partner was already in Japan, they suddenly sent me a short email mentioning we cannot stay and the reservation must be canceled due to overbooking; without any compensations or acceptable explanations. Overbooking? I have booked this ryokan on 3rd Aug, more than 2 months ahead of the actual stay. What makes me particularly angry is that they did not involve Japanican, which is the ryokan booking agency I have used. I argued that I am already in Japan and demanded an alternative option. The alternative they provided, after almost 2 days, was a way cheaper accommodation that is at 25 minutes walk away from them. My whole schedule was ruined and I had to rearrange the other restaurant reservations and get a new hotel. Book at your own risk. Or, if you are coming as a group tourist, this ryokan might be an options since they will recklessly cancel individual bookings to secure your room. May this ryokan flourishes by only keeping their favorable bookings.

  Booked the Sazanka suite which had its own private outdoor bath. Facility is overall very nice and what I was expecting. Paid an extra 2200 yen per person for the upgraded meal. The kaiseki dinner and breakfast were excellent and the highlight of our stay. The outdoor baths were partially closed for renovations during our stay, so they rotated male/female time blocks. The free shuttle service from Sasaguri station was prompt and easy. The hotel had an English speaking staff to help us with check in and explain everything.
