::This is my third time staying at Hijiori Onsen. There are many hotels that look good, so I stay there one after the other. So, when I tried to connect to the Wi-Fi at this inn, it was funny because the Wi-Fi at the two previous inns I stayed at was also available. I made sure to use the Wi-Fi at the hotel I was staying at. This room has a toilet and washbasin. I don't mind shared toilets, but since my mother was there this time, it seemed like it was a good idea to use the toilet without any hesitation. The room had all the necessary equipment, and although the person in the next room may have had good manners, I was able to spend a quiet time there. There was also a wide veranda corner, and since my mother has bad legs, it was nice to be able to sit on a chair while drinking tea. I was able to leave my futon in the room from check-in to check-out without any hassle. The amount of food I ate was such that I felt like I was going to burst. I'm not the kind of person who can't leave anything left when eating out, so I finished all my breakfast and dinner, and the Yukiwakamaru rice from Okura Village was so delicious that I ended up refilling it. Even my mother, who is 80 years old and is a big eater, complained that she was hungry, but she finished almost all of the food and ordered a second helping of rice. I want to go back to eat the delicious, fluffy and sweetly cooked rice. There are many side dishes that will make you think you've come to Yamagata, many of which are local. Is it due to water damage from heavy rain? The cave bath was no longer available, but it seems like there was a charge even if you stayed there, so I don't use that kind of thing, so it's not a problem. Although there is only one indoor bath for men and women, it is much larger than I expected, and depending on the timing, I was able to take a bath by myself. Actually, one of the fun things about Hijiori Onsen is to go to the outside hot spring facilities (3 locations), so this time I couldn't go because I had some business to do and check-in was late so I was only staying for one night, but I can have it at the inn I'm staying at. I wanted to get a discounted ticket and go to the public baths, so I'm going to Hijiori Onsen again. The souvenir shops and morning markets are quaint and fun, and I think the next generation of young people are coming up with ideas, such as stylish flyers, Hijiori lights at night, and flying lanterns. Every time I go there, I feel like everyone in the hot spring town is working together to protect Hijiori Onsen, and even though it's far away and takes a long time to get there from Kanto, I want to continue supporting them while I'm still healthy. Masu. I'm sure there will be some troubles like water damage and power outages, but I hope you do your best!

::I went to Hijiori Onsen for the first time. It's about an hour by bus from Shinjo Station, and it feels like you've climbed high into the mountains. The hot spring town is not large, but there are several souvenir shops, and they have a selection of goods comparable to a convenience store, so it is convenient. I think Kaneyama Shoten in front of the old post office was good. I stayed on the 4th floor of Matsuya, and all I could see outside the window was the roof of the inn across the street. Curious about the 1,200-year-old hot springs, we started by visiting the large bath, or rather, the medium bath that can accommodate about 4 people. The water flows directly from the source, and the water temperature is around 43 degrees Celsius. It felt so good that I went in many times during my stay. The cave bath is a treat. As I bent down and walked through the cave, I found a cave bath that could accommodate about three people. The water was a little lukewarm, so I took my time in the bath during the reserved time. The best part was the volume of dinner.Everything was delicious so I finished it all, but I ate too much. It's better to come without lunch (lol) The building feels old, but the toilet and sink were renovated and clean. I was very satisfied that I was able to enjoy the extraordinary and hot spring-like hot springs. I want to come again.

::Kin-chan was reporting on the baths on TV, so I went to visit.I saw it on TV.Can I take a cave bath? When I asked about it, the owner of the inn told me that it was only for overnight guests, and I had come from far away, but he said no one was coming in right now, so I said thank you, and took a bath. So far, everything was fine. After about 15 minutes, I asked, "How long will it last?" It's in! Please come out quickly! I don't like to take long baths, so I didn't really understand why she yelled at me, so I quickly got dressed and came out, only to find that the next person was waiting for me! I was scolded again, and even though I had paid the asking price to take a bath, I left thinking there was no way I could say that.Hijiori Onsen is where my grandparents and grandparents took me to visit Hijiori Onsen when I was a child, and it is a hot spring resort that retains a lot of the charm of the countryside. I remember this, but it seems that this owner has no concept of customer business.

::A really home-y feeling ryokan ran by amazingly warm and friendly older folks. The rooms are small but very comfortable and clean, and the food is great. Our friend was not feeling well during our stay and they offered to bring soup or medicine to his room and made sure he was alright. Aside from Hijiori Onsen being an incredible and magical location in general, this ryokan has some seriously amazing onsen baths. The shared men's bath is beautiful and very hot (43 or 44°C), but the real star is the private bath in the cave. You can only book it for 30 minute slots, but it's an incredible experience and seriously unique and atmospheric. I will definitely be back.

::One of the most unique and charming onsen/ryokan I've been to in a while. While a bit out of the way, staff was so warm and friendly and the cave onsen was splendid to the zenith! It's rare to find such a secluded gem like this so even if it's out of your way, do yourself a million favors and stay here!!!
