::Had a lovely stay at Takinoyu! As I don't speak Japanese, Yuiko at the reception was extremely helpful and provided a lot of advice on sights to see near the hotel in English. The hotel itself has a beautiful garden and nice onsen, and buffet breakfast was nice too. Thank you!

::Amazing from the beginning till the end. The service was exceptional, the food organic and very rich, beautiful and modern rooms, spacious onsen, garden and overall space. So many fun things to do around the hotel. They offer pick up from the shinkansen station. Loved it and highly recommend it.

::I stayed here with my wife while visiting friends in Tendō. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful. As an American, I was welcomed and treated with the exemplary Japanese hospitality that Japan is famous for. Additionally, we were traveling with our 1 year old son, and he had a great time as well. The hotel offers various child beds to use in the rooms but he wound up being very comfortable on a futon mattress that we set up in between the two beds in our room. He was very comfortable and slept wonderfully. The room we stayed in had a beautiful private outdoor onsen (bath) that had an easy to use electronic control for the temperature. The room was facing to the west, allowing for breathtaking views of the sunset and Mount Gassan. Tendō is a beautiful city surrounded by mountains on all sides, so there isn’t a bad view in the hotel. We stayed in late April and were happy to see the Sakura (cherry blossoms) in full bloom. Having traveled from Tokyo via Shinkansen, this was a treat because we missed the cherry blossoms in Tokyo, where it was warmer. Being at a higher altitude in the mountains, it was about 10 degrees colder (Fahrenheit) in Tendō, so the cherry blossom season fell later by a couple weeks than it did in the Tokyo area. We absolutely loved our stay and will be back. We were the only foreign tourists we saw at the hotel, which was bustling with Japanese native tourists. This is always a good sign when locals stay in a resort because you know it’s authentic and desirable as a location. The food was amazing. Dinners were served in private dining rooms on the first or second floor at one of the multiple restaurants on site. The food was authentic Japanese cuisine, which we enjoy. Breakfast was buffet-style and was very good as well. I particularly enjoyed the strong coffee that was served, which was closer to an espresso in both taste and quality. Nearby there are a number of restaurants and bars if you’re interested in going out. Our first night my wife and son were asleep early due to jet lag, so I went out and had a wonderful evening at nearby Port Bar, a small and cozy whiskey bar with a wide assortment of European and American whiskeys, particularly scotch. Great service, beautiful rooms, beautiful city and a very relaxing stay. Already looking forward to going back!

::There is a business room type which is reasonable yet comfortable enough. 800¥ share-ride taxi is available from/to the airport (must be booked in advance). Free bus service from/to Tendo Station (must be called/booked in advance) which was helpful specially as it was rainy day. The natural hot spring public bath is clean and large. There are drink service, amenities, and onsen egg service. [Business Single Room: Around 11,000¥ including Breakfast]
