::I was running late due to snow delays, but the staff reached out to make sure I was okay. From the moment they greeted me to the moment I was dropped off by their shuttle service, everyone was so attentive. There are beautiful and cozy areas to explore and relax in, and the jazz playing throughout this ryokan really sets the mood. The public onsens are relatively small, but I did not mind that at all, especially since I didn't see a single person in the 3 times I used them. I cannot express how gorgeous the semi-outdoor onsen was. The rooms are gorgeous and thoughtful, and the futon was comfy. I do wish the tub in the bathroom was wider- it felt claustrophobic. Dinner was perfect. You have a dedicated staff member that picks you up from your room for all of your meals and brings you to your private dining room. Each kaiseki course is brought out at your pace, and drinks are always full. I think the single underwhelming part of Kuramure is the breakfast. It is a small, simple spread of rice and sides, and the sides all have the same sweet soy sauce flavor and mushy textures. It was ok, but I felt that it was very lacking, especially for the price of the stay.

::Amazing and quiet place. The staff are so professional and polite. The entire place is one story so there are no stairs or elevators except for inside rooms where some have stairs. The onsens outside are split for each gender as usual. The onsens were so nice with an outdoor and indoor one.

::A peaceful and zen hotel by a stream. Kaseiki dinner was excellent using seasonal ingredients . It’s literally work of art . The room was spacious but do not choose the loft if you dislike climbing stairs. Service is always prompt and attentive .

::One of the most bizarre and worst service experiences in over 30 years. Hotel seems nice and would love to stay. Made a booking and our travel plans were changed (bike riding from top of japan to bottom) - hotel very helpfully accommodated. When we arrived we were a group of 3 - myself and my son (and friend). Hotel would not allow me to stay in the room for 2 hours before i needed to take the train back to Sapporo and leave for the day. Let me explain it again - hotel would not let me stay in the hotel room with my son from 3pm - 5pm - i was offered to sit in the lobby. I left - i was speechless. Someone (not the person who i dealt with) - but someone in charge needs to have a wake up call. Whoever you are its the worst service experience I’ve had in a long long time and left a bitter taste after a lovely 10 days in japan.

::Clean, modern interior with excellent food and service. For two story room, bathroom and toilet are both located upstairs. Stairs are quite steep so avoid this room if you are travelling with elderly family member. Onsen is moderate size, with 4 showering station + 1 additional showering station which seems to be for people with difficulties sitting in low chair. Some hallways have low ceiling, so if you are taller than 180cm(or approx. 5'9") you may experience some discomfort. Food and service are excellent, and since all drinks and alcohols are included, this place might be best for people who simply wish to relax and enjoy.
