::Room was spacious (for Japanese standards) and clean. Breakfast was very nice. Staff was polite and helpful. Ceiling spa was only ok, small, not much of a view, not very hot. Location only ok, perhaps will look nicer after they finish the shore renovation they are doing close by.

::ONSEN review: entrance ¥540, pay at the reception where you can also get your onsen stamp, no parking (parking only for hotel guests and onsen is free then). Shampoos and towel provided (they have the towels lined up at the dressing room), free lockers. If there hasn't been any person using the showers for a while you might need to wait 5-10 minutes for the hot water to come (pressure issues I guess), just open the hot water and wait. The tub is large and really nice, the whole place is very smoky having an interesting nice atmosphere. The facilities looked quite clean. At the dressing room there are free cotton buds, hair dryers and combs (inside a sterilization unit).

::A nice hotel! We book the hotel online on 7/7 due to flood related delay in railway. Though we find the room is all smoking room so we cancel the booking on the same day due to my sonâs allergic to smoking. Iâm so sorry to make you inconvenient!! If thereâs any chance in the future, I will visit your hotel!! Thanks a lot!!

::Only tried the bath facilities (onsen) on the ground floor. Itâs only 540 yen for onsen and don't need to bring your own towels cause they rent it without additional cost. Might visit here again.

::Ok. I liked the place. Yes, it's got signs of wear, and you can smoke indoors, but it feels real, you know? Honest. Japanese-style rooms with tatami (don't wear shoes!) and most of all, indulgent onsen on (excuse the pun) on tap. Knowing what you're getting into, well worth what you pay. Beppu is nice too
