::Overall experience of staying at Seikaiso was very good. The location is close enough to the Beppu station(walking distance 10mins) and bus terminal is 2mins away. The best experience of this Ryokan is the hot springs and private bath on the rooftop. Breakfast is served per room on booking time with Japanese style breakfast. It was various dishes and delicious! The front staff/restaurant staff/general staff are all friendly and helpful. Especially at the front desk staff Urabe was amazing. He also speak good English so it was very helpful. He helped us everything what we need. 🙏🏼 We will definitely go back to Seikaiso again.

::This night was included as part of our trip by the agent. Having been to Japan before we were not keen on the "fake Ryokan" experience but were persuaded. The hotel looks on the outside like an old industrial building and the layout inside seems to confirm that. However, a lot of effort had gone into the interior decor. The corridors have bright carpets and the reception area is light. There is free tea and coffee and a small gift shop, almost all edible gifts. The rooms have wooden flooring, Ryokan style baths and a Japanese toilet. The Ryokan bath includes a shower and everything needed to clean up Japanese style. When we were at dinner the futons were laid out for us. Our room had an enclosed balcony overlooking the sea but, unfortunately the main view was if the Nippon Steel works in the distance. Japanese style dinner and breakfast were included and they were good without being exceptional. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Having said that neither the hotel or the view would make me rush back to Beppu and it didn't seem with the 4 hours detour from our main journey.

::Give it a 3.5 stars. Located 10 mins from the train and bus station. Closed to a lot of restaurants. Cute hotel. Our room was a traditional sleeping with a futon. The room is spacious. The futon was actually very comfortable. There was no shower in the room. However, on the 6 floor there is a public bath with onsen. You can rent a private onsen for 1000 yen. The room was clean, but the sink was outdated and mole around the edge of the sink. The carpet and hallway wallpaper are outdated. Our Ryokan breakfast was amazing. The food, while small portions there was a lot of variety. Our breakfast room had a great view of the ocean, but the window needed cleaning.

::My experience is pretty different compared to many reviews. We got a room on the back side of the hotel, with a lovely view on the parking and a busy road, while opposite rooms have a see view. Dinner experience was really bad as well (maybe a different chef that day ?). Product were not fresh, not tasty, nothing like the picture from the hotel, child menu were cold nuggets and french fries… yak ! And if you are unlucky to eat in the dining room, the atmosphere is really cold and depressing, making your dining experience even worse. So make sure you have a see view room and private restaurant room if you want to enjoy your stay, otherwise you will feel robbed.

::Very convenient and comfortable place. Food also is very delicious. For people who love seafood with beautiful scenery I recommend this hotel. Availed the japanese style superior room and slept like a baby. If you want to try private onsen at the rooftop, just add 1000¥ and you will be fine. Service is also very accommodating. Want to come back soon! ♥️
