::Most of staff here don’t seem to know what they are doing… My dad stays here for his treatments and we sometimes visit him. Some nurses are very unfriendly and unprofessional even though my dad’s is in a critical condition. One day we booked the family house at the hospital. First we attempted to get to the house by a taxi but the taxi driver had no idea where it was located we even gave him the address. We ended up paying double for the extra drive. We came back to the hospital and asked a couple of the staff at the hospital for assistance but they didn’t know even know the address of the house. We later found there was no access to the house by car. It’s a walking distance but it takes about 10 mins from the hospital to the family house on snowy roads. (Imagine if you are with an elder family member who is limited mobility carrying suitcases) They never mentioned about it when we booked the family house. No one here at the hospital seems to know anything about the hospital. We ended up getting a hotel near the hospital for the rest of the days which costed us more than we planned. Very disappointed with their service as there are so many unreliable staff here at the hospital.

::They don't even accept you even in an emergency situation if you are a foreigner. Even as a Hokkaido university student I was told the doctor is busy with other patients and has no time to see a foreign patient... I was standing at the first aid/ emergency section with my hand bleeding.. I was just told to go somewhere else and was handed a printout with an emergency ph no of Sapporo city emergency services ( The irony ) I was just told to call that and try my luck.

::When I first went here in 2003, it was impressive that they had trees where the families of the patients could post their letters of encouragement to the patients. Edit: I recently visited the hospital again, in 2018, and I noticed that the trees were gone. Perhaps it was a one-time thing. Too bad.

::Excellent hospital, best emergency unit. But the parking is too expensive. That why only 4 stars.
