::I will never book again. On the day of my stay, my reservation was unilaterally canceled, and the only way to contact me was via email. Moreover, I received the call late in the morning on the day of my stay... The weather had already improved and we were near our inn. When I happened to look at the email, I was surprised to see that it had been canceled. I called them right away, but the response was very cold and they didn't even apologize for not calling back. Even if cancellation is unavoidable due to bad weather that causes a warning, you should make the decision earlier and contact us, and if it is the same day, you should contact us by phone first. It seems that they are disregarding the convenience of the guests. We happened to see the email and realized it, but if we hadn't seen the email, we would have gone to the site. My family is from this area and I am aware of the road conditions, so I think this hotel's response is malicious. Although the person in charge at Chiiori will probably be able to identify me, I decided to post this review because I was treated in a way that would normally not be possible for a lodging company.

::I visited at the end of July. A typhoon is passing nearby and the temperature is about 25 degrees Celsius. Both the exterior and interior have the atmosphere of an old folk house. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is no problem in preparing meals. Plenty of tableware too. Sit on the verandah and have a drink Flapping the fan The Showa era from more than half a century ago is revived. The bath, washroom, etc. have been upgraded with modern equipment and are comfortable. The route to get here is perfectly fine for those who have experienced 439, but the final approach is a bit narrow. A large car, such as a Hummer, would be impossible. Next time, I would like to visit in late autumn and experience the value of the irori hearth. It seems like it takes courage to visit in the snow.

::Nice and cozy place to stay. The food is great and the view is magnificent.

::Fifteen years ago I came here when driving through Shikoku on a motorbike, I came unexpectedly and was welcomed by tea and invited to dinner which we cooked together with the volunteers i was allowed to stay for a reasonable price, the house was in its old condition. Today came by wanting to just show the place famous from the book to my wife. I was coldly told by some staffer that without a reservation we weren't even allowed inside the house. I see he outside has been replaced with modern glass housing and gas heating put inside. The price to stay is also doubled. It's become a gentrified expensive hotel. I guess everyone has to make living, but the soul of the place feels lost. Fortunately the old house on down the hill is now a cafe and you can experience an authentic interior (plus TV, it this is Japan...)
