Next to Yasaka Shrine. Walking distance about 4-11 minutes from the train station depending on which one you need to use. Lots of different restaurants around the area. People are very friendly, nice and accommodating. Would definitely go back again.

Great location especially if you want to visit the temples early in the morning when there are fewer tourists! The onsen was a small and intimate experience and really loved it. Breakfast and dinner were simply amazing!!! Real Japanese experience! Only thing I did not like was the room, extremely noisy at night (you hear the cars from the neighboring street) so did not manage to sleep…and no shutters so early morning you have a bit of light coming in the room

Nestled in the heart of Kyoto, Yuzaya Ryokan offers a serene and authentic Japanese experience that surpasses all expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by warm and hospitable staff who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of exceptional. The traditional Japanese ambiance of Yuzaya Ryokan is truly enchanting. The moment you step inside, you are transported to a bygone era of elegance and tranquility. The tasteful decor, with its minimalist aesthetic and subtle touches of Japanese artistry, creates an atmosphere of calm and serenity. One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the delightful baths that Yuzaya Ryokan boasts. Impeccably maintained and featuring natural hot spring water, these baths provided the perfect respite after a long day of exploring Kyoto's vibrant streets. The soothing warmth of the water and the peaceful surroundings truly allowed us to unwind and rejuvenate both body and mind. The attention to detail at Yuzaya Ryokan is simply outstanding. From the meticulously prepared traditional Japanese meals to the thoughtfully arranged guest rooms, every aspect of our stay was carefully curated to ensure a truly authentic experience. The tatami mat flooring and futon beds provided a comfortable and restful night's sleep, allowing us to fully embrace the traditional Japanese lifestyle. Moreover, the genuine kindness and attentiveness of the staff at Yuzaya Ryokan left a lasting impression on us. They were always ready to assist with any inquiries or arrangements, ensuring that our stay was as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Their genuine warmth and dedication to providing exceptional service truly made us feel like valued guests. The location of Yuzaya Ryokan is another reason why we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kyoto. Situated in a quiet neighborhood, yet conveniently close to major attractions such as Kiyomizu-dera Temple and Gion District, it offers the perfect balance between tranquility and accessibility. Our stay at Yuzaya Ryokan was an unforgettable experience. The combination of gracious hospitality, authentic atmosphere, and the opportunity to indulge in the delightful baths made it a truly remarkable stay. We highly recommend Yuzaya Ryokan to anyone seeking an authentic and rejuvenating Japanese retreat in the heart of Kyoto.

Have been tried few ryokans in Kyoto, I like this place since it has own concept (yuzu) and food is well organised with it. Kaiseki was nice and tasty, menu was creative. Loved the explanation. Room is tidy and view is nice. It is not as much as traditional like seikoro ryokan but in the middle. Location is also middle of gion, which is good.

We stayed here for just one night, but it was the best experience of our trip in my opinion. The staff are extremely kind and really made the experience even better. Sleeping on the floor futon beds was a super cool experience and they were super comfortable. We slept like a baby after dinner. Speaking of dinner, the food was honestly outstanding. Fine dining level quality and the staff provided insightful information on each dish of the multi course kaiseki meal. I didn’t feel it was too much food either, each dish had the perfect portion size. Opt in for the dinner for sure! Breakfast was equally incredible. Overall a wonderful experience, only downside was we couldn’t stay longer!
