It was the final destination for the third night of a 6-day road trip from Nagano Prefecture to Tohoku, and I was interested in choosing it because the price was average and it was a main hotel. It has been 51 years since I visited Asamushi Onsen for work in 1971. After coming from Oushuku Onsen and seeing Lake Towada, Oirase Stream, and the Snowy Corridor, I visited this inn.It felt like a long-established Japanese-style inn. I didn't know where to park my car, so I went to the front door and showed my head, and the Nakai-san guided me to the parking lot. There was a parking lot for about 15 to 16 cars about 30 meters away. I was one of the last to arrive, so I ended up at the very back. The inside of the building was clean, and the inside of the room was clean with new tatami mats and 10 tatami mats, which was larger than expected. The large public bath was large enough to accommodate 12 to 13 people, both male and female, and each had its own open-air bath. At 7pm, the genders changed. In the changing room, there was a shrine dedicated to a god who had entered the shrine, and I thought it was a long-established inn that had been around since the Edo period and was a place of devout devotion. Also, the garden was beautiful and the trees were well maintained. Since we didn't have dinner, the waiter carefully gave us directions to where to eat. When I went there, I found a low-priced general restaurant with prices reminiscent of the Showa era. It was crowded inside, and I ended up sitting next to a family from Australia, and when I accidentally spoke some broken English, they asked me where in Japan they were from. When asked, I had to answer Nagano Prefecture. As a side note, the quality and temperature of the hot water in the bath at the inn was just right. Breakfast is eaten in the dining room with all guests. The food was average. On the way home, the landlady came out with me to the parking lot and saw me off. I can feel that they care about their customers. thank you very much. The towels also had a logo on them which was nice. We went to Aomori Port, took a commemorative photo with the car alongside the Seikan Ferry Hakkodamaru in the background, and then headed to Hirosaki Castle. However, Hirosaki Castle was extremely crowded, the roads were congested, and it seemed like it would take quite a while to get into the parking lot, so I decided against viewing the cherry blossoms at my wife's request. By the way, Aomori City is big, it felt bigger than Nagano City. Also, gas is cheap. It's high-octane and costs 20 yen per liter, which is cheaper than Nagano Prefecture.

The food was delicious and made with fresh local ingredients such as scallops and crab. The bathtub has just the right amount of heat. The room was also clean and quiet. I also had a lively conversation with the friendly Nakai-san.

Old-fashioned pattern (^-^) Welcoming you, guiding you to your room, giving you an explanation, seeing you off...you can feel the historical atmosphere. Hot springs are great for people who like hot water. It also has normal heat. The headquarters of the Tsugaru clan!

Either brush up on your Japanese or bring a friend that speaks it. Google translate may work? But English is very limited. Staff are incredible though and do whatever they can to make your stay amazing. Food was delicious and onsen was great (though one of them is hotter than the other... much so). About a 5 min walk to the station but they offered to drive us there whenever we ventured out.
