  Foreigners should not come here to eat because they will be discriminated against. I made a reservation for 8 people but due to force majeure there were 6 people left. Watanabe didn't let us in and kept blaming us for why there weren't 8 people. The discriminatory attitude towards foreigners is very very bad. Mr. Watanabe asked us if you know Japanese 4 times in a row. when we were angry and then Watanabe loudly argued with us. I don't understand why I'm a customer and do I have to know Japanese? I paid to receive the service but was discriminated against for not being Japanese. I went at another branch of chifaja and everything was still good. The store should consider selecting employees.

  This is one of the places to come to if you really want to eat some good meat, especially if you don't mind grilling it yourself. I came here with a coworker and with a choice of all you can eat meat set depending what meat you want, for a limited period of time and drinks to go with your grilled meat you can't really go wrong. The one thing that is different and possibly more convenient is ordering the dishes via your mobile where you have to download the menue via their QR code, it maybe be bothersome to some people, but once getting use to it's super convenient. The food here is delicious and was really full and really satisfied at the end of night. The price was pretty good especially for what you get.

  We had such a great experience last night here. The service is nice and the waitress who served our family is very friendly and polite. The meat is so good and orders comes out very fast even if they were a bit busy. The kimchi set was so good. Your money is worth it.

  Chifaja Sanjo Kawaramachi is very affordable all you can eat yakiniku (grilled meat) restaurant. If the low price is important factor for you, the place is okay, but don't expect it to be at the same level as more expensive ones. The difference can be noticed both, in the quality of meat and service. There were not enough staff, which caused a bit longer waiting time and some mistakes who ordered what. If the grill net is burned and completely black, no one might notice that and change the net. Our net was on fire already and staff offered to change it only at the time of last order. Altough I refuced it, because there was no point anymore, I am glad they have asked because I started to think that they don't change those at all. The staff had to work hard to keep up. There are some delicious meat on the list but you might have to try few average ones before you figure out what to order. The place seems to be very popular among students and high schoolers which is in line with affordable price level, especially when there are also discounts for them. If you would like to keep your expenses down and still enjoy all you can eat grilled meat Japanese style as it is a lot of fun espesially with a group of friends, this place is worth trying as long as you can size down your expectations a bit in accordance with price.

  Man... this was the best beef I ever had to be honest. The super calvi rib (bonless beef) was so thick yet so tender. It was soft, not chewy, and literally melted in my mouth. I ordered this one like 3-4 times. I think I might have offended the waiter, because I kept pointing back to this one on the menu. Overall, I felt the entire meal was a steal, which was only $60 USD or 60,000 yen for two. After a long day hike in Arashiyama and fushimi-Inari, this place was definitely worth it. If I ever go back to Kyoto, i'm coming back to to this place.
