::The cleaning staff seems to be Southeast Asian foreign workers. They play around in groups inside the guest rooms while cleaning. I think this is why, after the cleaning, I found a toenail on my pillow. It really tarnishes Japan's reputation.

::Hospitality is about client experience: in this hotel, your first interface is a machine, asking for information you already provided while doing your booking. On top of this boring welcome, the staff needs to assist you to get along with this cumbersome machine. So the machine has no added value and degrades user experience: clients are not receptionist and are not supposed to work when checking-in. At the end of the process, you even need to scan your passport, because the machine does not trust you providing accurate information. Dear hotel management, don’t get fooled into buying such items again or at least check for return on investment.

::I have stayed at more than 50 Toyoko Inns, and the service of here is the best of all Toyoko Inn hotels. A few minutes away from the Hankyu Station Exit 5. The ideal location for people wants to use Ranzan Train to Arashiyama region. The breakfast is inclusive. Very reasonable (8,000¥ by direct booking) and highly recommended for those who iust want to stay in a hotel with safety and coziness.

::The staff are very welcoming. Our first room smelled on cigarette smoke so we asked for another. They walked us to two different rooms to make sure we were happy with our stay. The three stars is because the beds and pillows are rock hard. Neither my wife or I had a great night sleep. Pro: Fridge, TV, hot water, deep tub, good sized rooms, great staff, close to bus and food options. Cons: Very hard beds/pillows, some rooms smell of smoke.

::The room was comfortable and clean. Despite being much smaller than what I'm used to in America, I had no problem with the room. The sink and tub use the same faucet, you just switch between the two. The service was polite and friendly. Japanese breakfast foods are much different but the food they served was perfectly fine.
