  The hotel is situated near the beautiful lakeside. Yet the building is quite old and there is no lift. The taste of the meal was bland despite its elaborate presentation.

  In late June we booked a half board package through a major reservation platform but the experience is truly horrible. Admittedly the location of the hotel is fantastic as it is next to the beautiful Towdako lake. However, their meals are below average at best given its 3 stars rating. The worst part is when we checked out, the front desk lady insisted that we should pay cash. After the payment in cash, however, we saw this notice in Japanese saying credit cards are welcome. I immediately texted the reservation platform customer service to complain, but so far I haven’t heard anything from them. And I can’t write a review about this hotel on the platform. The lesson learned is that you should never only read the reviews on hotel booking websites because they have a conflict of interest.

  Great ryokan style dinner and breakfast. Really nice staff members who do their best to accommodate. Located directly on lake Towada. Hot bath (onsen). The place seemed rather old but everything was clean.

  Hotel with lake view and staff are very nice. We have good experience during our stay for 2 nights here and enjoyed the meals too.

  Food was great. We opted for halfboard option. The hotel seems to be run by old people who provide extremely personal and meticulous service. If there is one thing i'll remember of lake towada, it'll be the service. They really make you feel like home and put in their best to make you comfortable. Also the food is wonderful, we look forward to every single meal. The location is also fantastic.
