  Staying at Satoyama Jujo is an experience through and through. The beautiful surroundings in the wooded hills, the warm welcome by the smiling staff, the outstanding, breathtaking cuisine, the beautiful, exquisite rooms and the unique onsen are simply impressive. The hotel and the cuisine exude an incredible complexity without sacrificing authenticity and honesty. These are places that touch and move you!

  Style 150 year old Zelkova hardwood house, traditional style without nails Setting. mountainscape in Japanese alps Explore. Bike, hike, plus hotel has lots of options Rooms. 15 rooms, I was in 303, a corner room with an outdoor hinoki onsen on the balcony. Room had great views of the cedar forest, was very comfortable, but aesthetically like a college dorm, quality of bedding was not good @ the hotel. Eco-conscious boutique, shower turns itself off. 2 Indoor outdoor public onsens. Finn Juhl and other designers furniture in the public areas of the 150 year old farmhouse. Free alcohol starting 7 pm, with more sakes delivered to my room which they encouraged me to take home. I loved the location and being able to easily roll out of bed for a nice stroll in nature Food & drinks. Mountain to table plant based dining using traditional vegetables native to Niigata Prices. $584 for half board. $620 incl alcohol during dinner Rating. 4/5

  The meals are very special, you can see the chef’s concept behind everything. The hotel itself, the lobby, the lounge, and the atmosphere are great. The room is not as great as the hotel. I have high expectations for the room since the hotel is pretty expensive. The air con is not cool enough and they cannot do anything about it. The bed is not very comfortable and the pillows are too soft. Although the staff are really nice, I cannot say it’s a good stay.

  Impeccable farm to table meals here! We loved it very much. Chef and team are so amazing! So much thoughts and effort creating each dishes. Room / furnitures used was okay but the view, meals, staffs compensated it! 10/10 will return! The Public baths and bath tub in the room were slightly dirty with many particles in them.

  The 2-day stay in Satoyama Jujo with the kindest and most caring staff you can ever imagine is unforgettable. We feel so fortunate to enjoy the incredible view of snow, the traditional japanese dishes, and the ‘绝景’ spring. We are planning a second vist. BTW, the morning tour from 8am to 9am definitely worth a try😚
