::It is difficult for me to understand why the Ooyuonsenyumotoshoya Izumiya Hotel establishment is not better evaluated and perhaps hope to be able, through this evaluation, to honor the place and its owners. Located in the town of Oyu Onsen, which looks like an old, somewhat neglected spa resort, it is easy when getting off the bus to see the tall building, certainly without much charm, that is this ryokan. We approach and find an entrance full of traditional charm and are greeted by a girl and her grandmother and two domesticated sparrows in a really pretty, elegant setting, mixing tradition and modernity. The environment is clean and neat, certainly noticeably shabby but nothing disturbing for our taste. The welcome is warm and helpful, we are grateful for the advice and exchanges. The rooms are superb, spacious and comfortable, well equipped, futons on the floor, small veranda opening onto a superb view, Yukatas, tea and daifuku to welcome us. Everything is thought out and taken care of. A slight musty smell in the room, certainly coming from the tatami mats, but quickly dispelled with good ventilation. Honestly, nothing to complain about, we’re good there! The onsen are of a clarity rarely seen, like the crystal clear river flowing along the city. Not too hot, very pleasant for long relaxing baths and very clean. We chose a modest meal plan. However, both the quality of the food and preparations and the quantity were largely up to par, all accompanied by some of the best rice tasted to date, a very good regional sake and a beer. The breakfast is not to be outdone, delicious and plentiful. Frankly, we really appreciated this enormous ryokan which seems to be run by 5 dedicated and kind people. We were even given an origami crane as a going away gift. We sincerely recommend this place which deserves better than the poor comments received! Many thanks and we hope to come back!

::The hot springs are amazing. The hot water is constantly flowing. It's so comfortable that the hot water and your body become one, something I've never experienced before.

::It is difficult to understand the approach of the branch road from the main street, so if there is a guide board, it will go smoothly. I hope I can get there! The food was very satisfying and delicious in both quality and quantity, and I was very satisfied with the attentiveness combined with the comfort. Thank you to all the staff!

::Be careful if your car navigation system or smartphone navigation shows you a route that takes you from National Route 352 to Prefectural Route 299. Cars will be unable to proceed along this route. Please ignore the branch to Route 299 and proceed. You will soon be given a route to take by car. The correct direction is to turn left from Route 352 onto a narrow road that is almost overlooked. As soon as you turn, you will see a gate sign that says ``Suzuran Dori''. If you drive carefully, you will see Yumotoshoya Izumiya Ryokan on the left. At night, the lanterns are lit and serve as landmarks.

::Stayed after my mother's 49th day. As mentioned in previous posts, it feels like a Showa era inn that I haven't seen in a while. It's a fairly old inn. The hot springs have free flowing water, and they seem to empty and clean them every day, so the hot springs are very nice! The food was average, but the milk agar dessert was served from the beginning, so I guess I didn't feel any doubt about having the lukewarm milk agar at the end. Finally, the rice and miso soup came, but I thought there were no pickles either. The rice must be delicious locally, so I thought it would be nice to have some pickles to make it delicious. There was no water in the room, and there was no water at the hot spring. I went to the hot springs several times, but I got thirsty so I went to the reception to ask if they had ice water. Is she the daughter of the hot spring proprietress? There was one person who was unfriendly. He never smiled once and looked like a Buddha. In short, I think it's a waste. Since it's an old hot spring, I think a lot of people would want to come back if they made some changes, but I wonder if they'd go stay at other hot springs and do some research... I think we can increase the number of services without adding much to the cost. It's my parents' hometown, so I hope they do their best at Oyu Onsen!
