::OVERALL: a dream place to stay; the staff were so nice and warm, but in a friendly, not stiff or formal way. As always with any Ryokan, the biggest problem is that it's made for old people, so breakfast is insanely earl from like 6-8am, checkout is super early at 10am... That's all quite stressful FOOD: Loved it all, it was fantastic ROOM: I had a big room with garden, it was really nice and relaxing.

::Picturesque, lovely small historical ryokan, perfectly located in the heart of town right by the river. The rooms were all right, ours had a view out to the courtyard garden. Appreciated the coffee machine in the lobby. Kurashiki is a lovely town as well, we enjoyed our walks around.

::A lovely ryokan right by the kurashiki canal. Love the shared bath. Art museum tickets with discount can be bought from the front desk!

::Extremely impressive hotel in a well reserved historical site. Service and food were very good. Onsen is a bit small, otherwise the hotel is perfect.
