::The place is 5 minute walk from Hakodate station where one can take the bus up Mt Hakodate for the gorgeous night views. It’s also close the morning market. I got a single traditional Japanese style room, with a few complimentary amenities that you can’t find in a hostel. The host and his family are super friendly!

::What a cute hotel! The decorations were amazing and the staffs were super friendly. There are free parking on the side. The room we stayed in was clean and size is reasonably to the price. It's a perfect fit for those on a budget trip. They have e a microwave in the lobby and mini fridge in the rooms. The shared washrooms are packed with amenities like shampoo and face clenser. They don't have an elevator though, which is not a really big deal unless you have lots of luggages. The owner also has cats! They were very adorable and sometimes you can hear them from the second floor at night but really lightly. Overall, I definitely recommend staying here!

::It was my best apartment during my 1 week south to north Japan trip, when comparing same amount of money spent. You are being welcomed very very friendly. Everything is clean, you’re welcome package includes everything, for example tooth brush, razor, and much more. The rooms are big and really quiet - you don’t hear traffic jam. Everything is clean, I have really nothing to complain about!

::I was so delighted with this inn from the moment I stepped in the door. The owners are fantastically kind and helpful, it was a real pleasure to meet them and stay with them. The location is very close to the main station so all the sights of Hakodate are easily accessible, I had a great time around the city. It was so nice to come back to this cosy house at the end of the day. The decor is very cute and fun, it makes the place special and unique. Our room was also very comfortable, with all amenities we could want plus more provided. The futons are very comfy! Our room had the shared bathroom which is a luxurious traditional wet room style. Everything was very clean and felt very safe. At the end of the stay we got goodie bags full of fun Japanese snacks! I absolutely loved staying here and would love to return one day. Thank you very much! I wish the owners all the best.

::For our first trip to Hakodate, we immediately were struck by the affordable price listings shown here. The location is about 5 minutes away from the station by walking, and the front entrance is in clear view. Immediately, we were met by the homely atmosphere and the kind reception, even given our own slippers to enter with. Some things to know if you are a foreigner is that the bathrooms will be communal, but they are incredibly clean. Not to mention, other guests wont disturb you and will wait their turn to use facilities. Baths also come with several soap types, amenities, I ended up preferring this to any modern hotel bathroom. The rooms were by far the nicest on our trip all around Japan, clean and accommodating. Everything was kept up with the most wonderful décor, and there is no other place in Japan like Pension Puppy Tail. Thank you so much to the amazing staff, I wish them all good health and fortune for their business. I hope to come here again and again on my next trips with my family. I would recommend this place to anyone!
