::The exterior shows its age. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is at a satisfactory level. The hot springs are good, but the open-air baths are not so good. The ocean view is amazing! Overall, I recommend it.

::The original name was ``Makurazaki Kanko Hotel Iwato'' and now it is ``Ocean Hotel Iwato,'' a hotel overlooking the sky and the sea. Although the facility is old, it is clean and the rooms are fully stocked including USB chargers. The futons are prepared from the beginning, and the staff will not come in after you enter the room. From the window you can see the Pacific Ocean and Tategami Rock, the symbol of Makurazaki. If the sky is clear, you can see as far as Yakushima. Best of all, the food is amazing. It's not at the level you'd find at a hotel or inn in this price range. A menu is also available, and the proprietress will explain the dishes to you. I was surprised that the breakfast was so good that it looked like dinner from another place. The hot springs are not that large, but day-trippers are only allowed to use them until 8:00 pm, so overnight guests can occupy them for the rest of the day. Since it faces a city road, it is a bit disappointing that there is a high fence to hide it. The Yassi Tree of Courage, which is famous for broadcasting typhoons, is located on the south side, and a fixed-point camera on the roof constantly broadcasts video of the situation.

::First of all, I was surprised that I couldn't take a bath in the morning at an inn with a hot spring. My wife and I have stayed at many hotels, but this was our first time. When I told the staff about this, they asked me to use the family bath, which cost 2,200 or 3,000 yen. I wonder why there is a separate charge for the morning bath. I asked for an explanation, but the way he said it seemed condescending, which made me feel really bad. I didn't feel any hospitality at all. Also, the hygiene aspect was quite unsatisfactory, as there were quite a few ants in the room and a lot of dust. However, the view from the window was very nice. I can't recommend this inn for people who want to take a normal bath in the morning, have a clean room, and expect hospitality.

::Early summer 2023 The seascape is spectacular, even though there is a city road just below. The melody of the sound of the sea 🎵 You can spend a comfortable time in your room. The room we stayed in was a completely Japanese-style room, just like an old hot spring inn. We have toilets, bath units, safes, old air conditioners, air purifiers, extension cables, chargers, and just about everything. This is a polite response that eliminates the need for front desk support. It's a charm that you can't lock the window! In addition, the futon is folded and ready at the time of check-in. It's a reduction in time and effort. Although it is small, the hot springs are good. The open air is comfortable and blends in with the sea in front of you. Bring a towel from your room. Breakfast starts at 7am. At the social gathering venue on the second floor overlooking the ocean. It's not a buffet, but a plate with many small bowls for each person is set on the table, and after you are seated, you are served rice, miso soup (🦀), and an omelet made by a handsome chef to fill your stomach. Drinks are self-serve. Coffee is an extra charge. Japanese tea is delicious! Although it is based on an old facility, it has a casual and stylish feel, which is difficult to rate! However, the sea and hot springs are highly rated.

::It's a basic hotel. Nice sea view. I was disappointed with the cleanliness in this hotel which is unusual in Japan.
