::My husband and I booked this hotel for our last few nights in Japan and for Valentine’s Day and it was the perfect choice! The staff was immensely patient and kind with us as we got lost a few times and they even picked us up when we got off at the wrong train station. The room was great with its own outdoor bath and spacious living area. We even got to try chicken sashimi at the restaurant and it was delicious! Thank you so much for such a wonderful time!!!

::The hotel was located just outside of Ibusuki, so you probably needed to drive to get there. There was almost nothing to shop around the hotel, we went to the town centre to get some snacks. The room looked old but well maintained and clean. The view was great to see the ocean and Sakura Jima, we watched the full moon rising from the ocean, which was absolutely beautiful. The spa was on the top floor, and the spa water was just perfect to relax after the long day. We didn't see anyone inside the spa, it looked like a private spa to enjoy the ocean view. The breakfast was just right, with a Japanese style. The drinks were the buffet style, coffee, tea, and juice. The staff were well trained, kind and very friendly. I was very impressed.

::Helpful and friendly staffs, nice and comfortable stay, both public bath and outdoor onsen are super!!! Me with parents missed the train station where we reserved a pick-up at, and got-off wrongly at the next station. After few emails communication, the hotel staffs immediately arranged the pick-up at the station where we got off wrongly, the staff driving the car appeared politely with a smile which eased our nerves 👍 Credit to Jun San and the guy who pick us up

::Amazing facilities! I spent two nights here and wished I had stayed more. I thought I would regret getting the basic tatami room, but it was huge! I also got the breakfast and dinner package. All this only cost me about $150/night! Granted the place is a bit old and hard to get to, but for the old country soul like me, do go here! Its quiet, beautiful, and charming. The ryokan has its own private top floor onsen/hot bath with a view that overlooks the NE sky and the sea. I woke up every morning to see half of the sunrise which was still pretty. Outside in the back they have an open-air bath. It is small, but is equipped with a single shower area and is perfect for a small group of friends. Might be crowded so go early! Otherwise the top floor bath is huge! One thing to keep in mind is that both pools have limited open times (only morning 5am until 9am? And even from 7pm until midnight? Double check with the hotel). For food, know that you cannot choose the menu. It is chosen and then it is given to you. Luckily I'm frugal enough to not waste my money, but for others keep this in mind! Also they have a free shuttle to and from the sand baths in Ibusuki. Times are limited, but free! Enjoy!

::We enjoyed staying here. We had a superior double room with a great sea view, and there was plenty of space for our family (of four). The public bath at the top of the building has an awesome view and is one of the nicest I’d seen. It would be nice if they would clean the windows near the bottom a bit better so you could see the view more clearly when sitting in the bath (seemed a bit foggy with sea spray), but still, being up there at sunset is pretty awesome. The kaiseki dinner on the first night was immense - delicious and in vast quantities. Seventeen courses. The kids struggled with a few things. Breakfasts were full Japanese style which again was a little challenging for the kids but I liked them a lot. The private family bath was nice but you had to pay extra for it. Ping pong also cost extra. It was the most expensive ryokan of our trip, so a little galling to have to pay yet more for these small additions. That’s Japan though. It’s spacious but not hugely atmospheric. Don’t expect an olde-worlde experience here. I’m not sure we’d go again but I’m glad we tried it.
