::The room is spacious with a nice view of a private garden, even on the 3rd floor. The hotel hallways have a mildew odor due to the natural hot-spring bath house in the basement of the hotel. The bath house is quite big but if you're a shy person, it may not be your cup of tea. No clothes are allowed in the pool. The room rate is very affordable. There are 3 restaurants downstairs so you don't need to step out searching for something to eat if you feel a bit lazy.

::My stay at Nara Royal Hotel Park was absolutely fantastic! The highlight for me was definitely the amazing food buffet that catered to every taste imaginable. Whether you're into vegetarian dishes, meats, or seafood, they have it all in both Japanese and Western styles. The variety is incredible, and the quality is top-notch. The rooms are spacious and well-appointed, perfect for two people with a separate bedroom and a comfortable work area with a nice desk and chair. The bathroom is equally spacious, ideal for a relaxing bath after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of the hotel is the onsen, which offers a serene and rejuvenating experience for both men and women. The reception staff and all the hotel workers were incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home throughout our stay. Location-wise, it's conveniently close to Nara Park, a pleasant 30-50 minute walk away. There's also a Lawson convenience store and a 2nd Street shop just a short 10-minute stroll from the hotel, making it super convenient for any last-minute needs. If you're looking to explore further, Shinomiya Station is nearby with plenty of dining options, including restaurants open late into the night. Even at 2 AM, you can find delicious food to satisfy any craving. Overall, Nara Royal Hotel Park exceeded my expectations in every way possible. I can't wait to come back and stay here again!

::We stayed here awhile ago and enjoyed the onsen very much. This onsen is one that is open to the public and very homey. If you are expecting a western style spa then go somewhere else. This is the type of place a Japanese worker goes after work for a bath. We thought the location was great as it was right next to train station and even a mall. Near the station are many restaurants to try. It’s a small station so don’t expect too much. If you are looking for touristy things this is probably not the best place to stay. But if you are interested in getting off the beaten path and exploring more areas in Nara besides the park and downtown then you’ll have fun here. It right next to a castle ruin and a short taxi ride to some temples I won’t mention so they don’t get overrun by tourists.

::This review is for the onsen. I did not stay in the hotel. The onsen is quite dated and the facilities feel like an older gym more than an upscale spa. My biggest complaint is that the outdoor area that is featured prominently on their website is for women only. This is not stated anywhere on the website. I came mainly for the outdoor experience, so I was disappointed to learn that this was not an option after I had already paid. Also, just a heads up that there are women employees walking around the men’s bathing area.

::The sauna has a noisy television with advertisement programs and dumb loud talk shows. This is really annoying & not relaxing. Sauna, is not a place for noisy television. It supposed to be a place to relax. The staff is nice and the location is fairly convenient to historic locations if you like to walk. Breakfast is good.
