::Fantastic hotel-onsen on balcony. Wee bit out from the township but the hotel shuttle will take you in and pick you up as long as it's before 6pm. Township restaurants don't open til 6pm. Hotel staff are very helpful and a lovely breakfast included

::Stayed here for 2 nights in the newly opened Annex which came with the hot tub in the balcony. I decided to book this hotel despite the numerous negative reviews online about the poor shuttle service and poor service standards. To my dismay, the reviewers were spot on. Service was mediocre at best with the exception of a male bellboy who was very friendly and kind and helped us to find the new annex. One female service staff at the breakfast buffet was sulky and pulled a long face when we asked if we could sit at an alternative nearby table. The shuttle service was super rigid and inflexible (9.30am to 12pm from hotel to Gora station and 2pm to 6pm from Gora station to hotel). For Gora station to hotel, you will have to call the hotel in advance. Make sure you travel light / come after 2pm otherwise you will be faced with numerous steep slopes - one of these slopes have at least a 35 degree incline. Imagine pushing two 25kg luggages up that slope. My aged mother was so so tired after that walk. When travelling from Gora station back to the hotel, there are 2 options: either arrive at the info centre before it closes at 4pm to get help to call the hotel, or use the public phone booth near the station to call the hotel (100 yen per call). If you miss the shuttle service, there are (in our experience) limited taxi options which means a repeat of the insane uphill walk. We also discovered a bus stop about 50-100m away from the hotel which goes to Gora station which may be an alternative (not found on Google maps). Overall, I will not recommend this hotel. There are much more cost-effective hotels nearby with better service, especially for foreigners.

::Very nice facilities, inconvenient location and no willingness to make up for it in transport. If you happen to get here by train, they will not send shuttles nor call a taxi for you, this happened to us 2 days in a row at two different hours of the day, not during checkout in the early afternoon (if you get off at the wrong cable car station, god forbid the driver can't stop at the mid station Google maps tells you to get off at) and not after 6pm when the cable car stops running, you will have to walk from Gora, they won't even have the courtesy of calling a cab for you, they will only call cabs to pick you up at the hotel. Very poor service, and the staff barely speaks english. We had to make a 70 year old walk for 20 minutes up the hill carrying suitcases. They don't have room service and there are no convenience stores nearby, so be prepared to bring food early from town if you don't feel like eating the expensive gourmet restaurant the hotel has for dineer, and which makes it overly complex to make reservations. Western kids won't eat the weird gourmet menu which isn't that great. The one good thing foodwise is the morning buffet breakfast from 7.30am until 9.30am, the rooms in the new building are awesome, excellent design, clean, great showers and private onsen hot tubs. Never coming back here.

::We stayed in the brand new building that is less than a year old. The new rooms were really nice; I believe all of the rooms have a rotenburo on the balcony. The balcony bath was quite spacious and filled with hot spring water; it was a bit strange that the shower was far from the balcony though. The views of the mountains were beautiful. The breakfast buffet was just okay, pretty normal. There is a nice lounge where you can relax in the main building, but it would be nice if they offered more refreshments there. It's not a really walkable property being up on a mountain, so having a car would really help. There is a parking lot with free parking we were able to use without issues. All in all the hotel provides pretty good value especially if you are looking for a place with a private outdoor bath.

::Paid a lot for the new rooms built in 2024, with private bath. They do feel luxurious and the breakfast was interesting. The staff is meh, they are nice but not as you'd expect when paying this much. Location is 15 minutes walk from public transportation and it's on a hill. There's a cable car that's a shorter walking distance.
