Wow i am so glad i stayed here! I want to mention this large ryokan also functions as a convention center… and therefore they have a public bath section for the general public to access, and also a private area for ryokan hotel guests only. The former can be crowded but the latter was much quieter. They have shuttle service to and from Kurobeunazukionsen JR station that is complimentary. There were no foreigners at this hotel initially other than my partner and I and it seems like this place is frequented by people mostly in their 50s and up, with the exception of the occasional tour group that arrived in the late afternoon and left early morning. I loved that this hotel was large and had many rooms and relaxation areas for you to enjoy. They had two gift shops, a very large atrium split into a sofa area and a “wooden” area with beautiful luxury wood furniture. They also had one large relaxation room of sofa chairs (looks like a theatre room too) and a smaller area with small tables and chairs. There was also an area with a bunch of claw machines (although I dont know why they bothered with this since the population going there is mostly people in their 50s and older). We opted for a room with our own bath and the view of the Hida mountains could be seen clearly and it was splendid! I also very much enjoyed the kaiseki dinner - i felt they toon effort incorporating local goods (squid, kelp, shrimp(m) into the meal and also took the effort to make the display very intricate and elevated. I was honestly stuffed by the 3rd plate and there were about 4 more dishes to go! The breakfast buffet was A+. I am never one for buffets but this one offered quality and quantity! What a positive experience. The few drawbacks of this place include the fact thar nobody speaks English (one girl speaks mandarin however), there is nothing to do around the ryokan as it is nestled in a Relatively rural-suburb residential area… and you get some crowds from the general public (one lady randomly yelled at me as well and i have no idea why bc i dont speak Japanese).

Wow. What a gem in toyama. easy to get to the subway station (Shinkansen) to board the shuttle bus. Check in was mostly smooth (no one speaks English but they do speak mandarin). We got 3000 yen voucher per person for gifts (good luck finding and downloading the app if you're a foreigner). The hotel is massive as it's also a convention center and connected to the day pool. The hotel was not too crowded so we felt very relaxed. There are two onsen : larger open air is shared with public day users (but they do have times exclusive for hotel guests) and the other is only for hotel guests. The hotel exclusive one was near empty and the other was busy. I love that the hotel is big so you can walk around. The dinner kaiseki and the breakfast buffet are superb. They spend a lot of effort on designing and presenting the cuisine with a focus on local delicacies. There's laundry machine available. Free apple juice and coffee. Superb woodworking furniture. The room we picked (with private bath) was spacious with great country side views. Would absolutely come here again. If I had to give some criticism it's the lack of a single English speaker and some parts of the hotel are really dated.

A very big place. The rooms are nice and spacious. The onsen very ''intense''. Not a young and hip place but good to relax for a short break.

Bad experience. At 5pm, We reserved family hot spring for 8pm and they confirmed. It took 1h to drive there. Then they said: we are sorry that you can not enter onsen for family because it isn’t available now. They canceled our reservation without any call or notice. That is so rude!!.
