::Location is decent, a little out of the way but bus stops pretty much in front. The room was a little dirty but the staff was friendly, the hot baths were pretty good. Didn’t try the food though.

::My whole family stayed this hotel for a night. This is the best hotel we never ever had. Not from their facilities. Is from their heart. The lady is so nice to us and told us everything we want to know. The food is fantastic and the service is great! We will come back again to stay next time when we visit Japan.

::This place is certainly traditional as advertised, it's quite dated, like the hotel hasn't changed since the 70s. The emptiness of the place and the isolation of the location was not a nice feeling. It's unfair of me to give them a bad review because if you're looking for that type of experience you'll enjoy it, but if not you might be dissatisfied. The onsen was nice. 2000 yen for 30 mins in the private one. And the pricing isn't bad compared to other ryokan. Overall it was probably our fault for misjudging this place when we booked and were disappointed when we got there.

::we loved our stay here. the staff was super welcoming and helpful and the japanese style breakfast we had was outstanding. the sento (public bath) was super clean and extremely relaxing and we were lucky enough to enjoy the private one for free on that day. the room was spacious, quiet and clean, with a gorgeous view. honestly, for what we paid we were extremely satisfied with the quality of our stay. just make sure you know some words in japanese! :) exceptional location surrounded by nature and quiet. just make sure you get ready for the bumpy bus ride, buses from main hakone station can get extremely crowded so organise accordingly in advance! an unforgettable experience

::This inn is very difficult to rate. The room rate including dinner and breakfast is very cheap for Hakone, and the onsen is wonderful, but there are problems with the service and staff. I stayed at this ryokan with 2 foreign friends. We made our reservation directly with the ryokan, which included a 2pm えearly-check-in (normally 3pm) and 30 minutes in a private onsen as a special offer. At check-in, we were served by an elderly woman who claimed to be the responsible person. She did not explain the privilege of the private hot spring until I asked her. She also said that she had arranged flower arrangements in our room, but they were not in the room. She showed us to our room and did not say anything if there were no flower arrangement (ikebana) in the room. Also, there was a futon already spread in the room, probably due to the small number of staff. (In good ryokans, the bedding prepare by the staff during dinner time.)This made the room feel very small. The hot spring water was excellent and very good, with a source that was not circulated and heated. The dinner was enjoyable enough, although the food was not special, probably due to the low price. This ryokan is well worth a stay because of its history, excellent hot springs and low prices. However, you cannot expect the same level of service as in a luxury ryokan at all. Also, after making a reservation with the ryokan's website and receiving an automatic confirmation email, I emailed the ryokan directly several times, but received no response at all. In the end, I contacted them by phone. Considering the price, I would visit again.
