::The rooms are small but that’s typical for hotel rooms in Japan. The room was very clean and came stocked with various items (toothbrushes, pjs, slippers). The room did not smell like smoke which I was worried about based on some of the reviews. The front desk staff were kind and the check in/out process was super easy. The best part is the Family Mart attached to the hotel lobby. Open 24 hours! The location is also great. Right across the street from the tram stop. A couple of restaurants right around the hotel too. The ac also works really well.

::The room is very spacious for japan standard. Although a bit far (20 minutes tram ride) from the Bay Area, there is a tram station conveniently located right in front of the hotel. There is also Family Mart connected to the hotel so that’s a bonus. Staff are very nice and helpful. Overall, very good hotel for the price you pay 👍🏼

::They have a very spacious room with excellent amenities. The service was also great since the staff was very helpful and were able to speak in English as well. They also offered various kind of breakfast options (even salmon and sashimi!). Transportations were also quite strategic. Near bus and tram station. There was a Family Mart that opened for 24 hours just beside this hotel. I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel.

::I made a mistake while booking the room (reserved a smoking room instead of a non-smoking one), but the receptionist was able to change it to my preference immediately (although at the cost of a window that faces a wall). The room itself was a little cramped, but there was space to spare for me to unpack my luggage. The TV had many channels that were inaccessible due to weather conditions(?) during my stay, but there was a good mix of Japanese variety shows and Chinese & English news to keep me entertained. The location was great, with plenty of food options around and a Family Mart literally attached to the hotel (they share a side door!). Compared to the rest of Hakodate, which seems to tend to turn in early, this area has regular traffic even at night. Other than being walking distance away from Goryokaku, it's also across the street from Maru Imai, a department store (and the location of the exhibition I was there to visit). A sign by the lift mentioned that the hotel is currently undergoing renovations, but I personally didn't face any noise concerns, even when I popped back in during the afternoon. The customer base appears to be a mix of families with kids and workers on business trips.

::The room was very large and had many nice touches. The toilet was in its own room, and the tub and shower were separate. There was a large closet, a luggage rack for two large suitcases - very unusual for Japan. There was an in- room safe, a nice table and chairs and two queen- sized beds. The view was excellent. Service was really good.
