  Avoid at all cost. It may be cheap and the location is great, but they have an ancient air conditioning unit which makes an awful droning sound. You can't turn it off, it's a central unit and earplugs don't help at all. Think twice about booking unless you're confident this won't bother you.

  I wish the 7flr rooms getting more cleaner. Each rooms needs own phone just in case of emergency

  Locatio: Great Room: We stayed last Aug 11-14, however the in room wifi was not working and we have to connect to other rooms which made the connection sometimes intermittent Service: Although few of them can speak english, we were able to communicate properly using google translate. There is also an available coffee machine right infront of the elevator which is very convenient in the morning. On our stay in the hotel, we abruptly changed our plans and checked out one day early around 7am. We requested for our big luggage to be kept for overnight in the hotel since we wanted to stay at Kamikochi for one night. A staff named "Umeki" was very accommodating and help us in keeping our big luggage in the hotel. We collected it the next day afternoon.

  The hotel is just across of Nagano train and local bus terminal. Just a 5 minutes walk. The hotel is clean but a bit dated. The rooms are slightly bigger than hotel room in Tokyo. If you are lucky, you may get a room facing the station. At the lobby there is a coffee and hot chocolate machine. The is a shampoo bar which you could use but have to put it back anytime after used. Information leaflet of the nearby attraction. Many eateries around the hotel and shopping malls too!

  The location saves this hotel from a 2 star rating. It takes less than 5 minutes by foot to the Nagano Station. Could make it in 3 minutes if you walk fast. There are plenty of restaurants in the area as well as a decent hotel restaurant with good service. No English speaking staff available if that is important to you. My biggest issue is the beds. My mother fell from her bed as it was slanted. They provide you with one hard pillow and one blanket. Heat is on full blast in early October. Recommended for those who use their hotel room as a base rather than to relax.
