Amazing tempura mande on the spot. Very popular so be prepared to wait in line but it's definitely worth the wait. For Japanese speakers only.

Price is high for being in an outskirts suburb. But I think it’s pretty worth it. Their udon is pinnacle quality, handmade and full of strength in texture. The dip in the udon is top tier. Better than all the other top soba restaurants. And their best is their tempura which consists of imported vegetables from other cities all over Japan. However it’s suited for the experienced eaters looking for depth. Like if you ate soba/udon tempura and is curious of the mountain top? This shows you what details can be added. Each vegetables are unique in their own subtle flavour. Only thing to fault is the price. 2300 yen for udon / vegetables. If I wasn’t visiting Fushimi I wouldn’t come out this far from Kyoto central.

Food was delicious - Udon thick, bouncy and chewy. Broth was delicious - got set 1 and 2 with hot and cold noodles. Tempura vegetables were really fresh and crispy. Tempura chicken and fish cake was also delicious and fresh. Staff were really friendly even though we couldn't speak any Japanese. They even gave us some scissors as they could see us sharing the dishes with each other. You have to line up and they take your order outside - luckily we got there just before the queue became huge so we didn't have to wait long - very popular with locals! Food for 4 people (4 set menus) cost 6820 Yen which was very good value for the amount of food and taste (about $15AUD each) It was a great lunch spot after seeing the Fushimi Inari shrines - about 20min flat walk (otherwise 2 stops on the metro KH line)

We had the cold udon and it was super delicious. The udon was refreshing, the sauce was not too salty which most Japanese dishes are, and the fried dishes were not too oily. Definitely under rated, and would come again :)

Ordered the signature cold udon and hot tempura udon. Probably the best udon I had in Japan!
