  The Nakaya's were very friendly and accommodating. They served us a delicious dinner and a wonderful breakfast. Ainokura is also very beautiful in the winter. Please dont go, so that I can continue going to this minshuku.😂

  A Must do in Ainokura! Staying overnight is the best way to escape the crowds and this Gassho is just the cutest- such good food and nice owners! We were 100% happy there!

  Very well maintained guest house. The rooms are tidy. The toilets are modern and clean. The bath room is completely new and modern. The food is very tasty and the hosts are very kind. This stay has been very special and I am sure that there are very few other guest houses who come just near this extraordinary experience. All in all this guest house gets my fullest recommendation.

  Beautiful gassho inn in picturesque Ainokura village. Ryokan Nakaya is traditional with spacious rooms that include tatami mats and soft futons, a table, and chairs. This house/inn offers a stay which includes breakfast and dinner served in a central traditional Gassho room furnished with comfortable wood tables and chairs. Dinner was amazing. Fish grilled slowly over the central fire pit coals, sashimi, tempura, local vegetables, home made tofu and more. Air conditioning in the room. The bathing room, with a hot tub bath offered, and toilets are shared. The village is beautiful - surrounded by mountains lush with cedar forests. Very highly recommended!

  As we do not speak Japanese we booked via "Japanese Guest Houses". As you can expect in such a preserved and kind of off the beaten track area, the level of English is limited but enough to communicate. The couple living there is very discrete but lovely and kind. The gassho house is really beautiful, with two traditional rooms on the ground floor plus the off-room bathroom (traditional also, very enjoyable) and toilets. The kitchen+living room is very cosy and beautiful, and we had an amazing dinner and breakfast served there. They even accepted credit cards for payment, do take cash just in case as you never know but it is handy as there are not ATM's in the village.
