::Had a very pleasant stay in this Onsen hotel. The best part must be the signature stunning view across the bridge between lobby and room building. Luckily I’m visiting this place during the cherry blossom season. There are 3 onsens available in the hotel with both indoor and outdoor. Recommend to go to onsen in the main building (same building as the lobby) as the place is much more spacious and comfortable.

::This review is for the Yugetsusanso (the traditional Japanese Ryoken) part of the hotel. What a lovely stay! The Ryoken has an old-world traditional charm to it. We booked a traditional Japanese room and it was our first time staying at a Ryoken. We were greeted so warmly on arrival, the staff were absolutely fantastic. Our room was large enough for two and whilst you are having dinner, your futon beds on the tatami floor is set up. It takes some getting used to sleeping on futon/floor as it's not as soft as a bed -- but overall okay. As for dining - for both breakfast and dinner, the staff will ask what time you would like to eat and you are allocated a table for your room. The food was fantastic, the buffet was plentiful (inc some western foods) and some special dishes are served at your table. You are also provided a Yukata to wear around the hotel which most guests will wear for breakfast and dinner. With our 2 night stay, we booked to try a bath for each day (~$20Aud for 40mins). Let me just say, there is something so magical about watching a snow flurry outside while soaking in a hot, relaxing bath. Overall, would recommend 2-night visit to enjoy the hotel and the surrounding area. Thank you for a lovely stay!

::Fantastic Onsen resort! Beautiful & large compound, in-house store and multiple indoor/outdoor hot spring pools.(total of 5 pools for each gender). The Onsen features both clear baths and iron minerals baths. Loved both types of bath and the large compound. 5stars for their service. A shout out to Yamazaki-san for his great service. You could book with the hotel for station pickup. We didn’t as we didn’t know what time we might arrive. As we approach the hotel, the hotel staffs rushed out to help us with our luggages. Totally surprised by the wonderful gesture & service. And then took our luggage’s to the rooms. On return they send us back via Van to the bus terminal. On one leg, we took the train Osaka-Sanda-Arima Onsen(1.5hr partial JR pass cover), on the return we took the Hankyu highway bus (1hr) good choice, cost 1400 per adult. And there is another to Kyoto Station. Many thanks to Yamazaki san who showed us to our room, explained everything and got the right Yukata sizes for all of us, all the while with a happy smile. Dinner was hybrid of main course(wagyu)/ sashimi + buffet. Tempura live station. Food section for young children (finger food + sweets) Breakfast was buffet. Spread was good and I choose mainly Japanese dishes which was a good opportunity to try many varieties of rice toppings. Room for 4 sleeps comfortably, children slept really well. Everything you need is there, some parts a little dated but clean and functional. Especially like the multi-room “compartments”. Our room opens up at the back to the small “back yard”, super nice. We only had one night stay and left 2pm the next day so we couldn’t cover the ropeway that was just up the hill. Overall, a fantastic experience!

::For such a large establishment it was a wonderful surprise to discover there is a separate wing in the traditional Japanese style! Located just out of the way, but only took us a few minutes walk down to the main onsen street too.. The food was excellent.. even though both dinner and breakfast were buffet.. (dinner was actually semi-buffet.. you can pick your main which is served on your table.. we chose the wagu beef grill.. the thinly-sliced beef sizzled on your own little hotplate.. Truly one of the best I've had in Japan.. that's saying something) There was freshly-made tempura in the mornig too.. it was delicious! The best thing here for me were the onsen baths.. there were a couple spread around.. the spring water differed between "gin" and "kin".. makes for a great contrast.. baby-smooth skin and a truly relaxing soak😌 Cannot wait to go back.. keep in mind though.. rooms and meals vary with price so pick you poison lol
