::We had a great stay at Fukuchi-in temple. The place is beautiful, peaceful and we were lucky enough to attend the sutra copying calligraphy meditation in the night and the morning ceremony held by three monks. The vegetarian food was delicious and surprising and the onsen was great to relax. Thanks again for the hospitality!

::This location is bus stop 5 from Koyasan station. It was a nice experience but would not recommend this for a week stay for example. You sleep in a traditional temple on the floor with a mat. It is relative expensive - this was my most expensive night during my whole vacation in Japan €125,- per night. You will need to share the toilet and the bathroom. I consider it a great experience to have done once in your life so worth the money. The Onsen (Spa) is small but nice. Important information: curfew 21.00 door closes and everyone needs to be in. If you want food - dinner / breakfast. You must book it in advance. You can’t do this during check in! I found a lovely ramen bar 750m which was great. Don’t know the name. In the morning 06.00 the is a morning session which is nice to have seen as well. They give you nice pyjamas as well. I don’t know what the name is but it is very comfortable.

::This is not a temple but a large hôtel. There are 50+ rooms and this was our most expensive night in Japan! Is is a lucrative business. Though the food was diverse and well prepared and the place is nice and peaceful

::Disappointing stay. The temple was more like a tourist attraction/hotel rather than a temple. But the biggest problem was our room which had a horrible smell!! It was so intense we had to leave a night before planned. The location and staff were nice, but unfortunately not a place to recommend.

::We were treated like kings! The care and services were top notch. This is an authentic Japanese experience. Not for the spoiled American not used to sitting on the floor. The vegetarian food was just prepared with love and wished for a cooking lesson. Loved this place. Simplicity at its finest.
