2024 ~ I used to be a repeat guest, you can stay from 5000 yen on a cheap day. But …. Bed is hard as rock. But the bed that I got the last time was like a rock that has been partially crushed by past users. It was very uncomfortable. All beds in Daiwa hotels are hard beds, I will not stay again. No 4th time.

This is a bit of a walk from the station but the walk is, at least, pretty much straight down the main road and mostly paved. Allow more time if you are walking with luggage. The rooms were clean. The laundry and dryer is located in a small separate room on the 7th (iirc) floor which I much preferred over hotels that keep their machines in the lobby. The same machine does both functions which made it very easy to use. I really didn't like that the AC was centrally controlled. Luckily the weather was cool and pleasant during my stay so I could leave it off and ignore it. This hotel had the best toothbrush + toothpaste set out of the ones I stayed at during this trip. The toothpaste actually tasted like toothpaste instead of like sweets. Decent stay overall!

If your coming from the JR station, you'll walk about 10-15 minutes past lots of hotels before you reach this place. That said, it's a fairly pleasant walk. There's also a 100yen circle bus (little blue bus) that stops outside the hotel. Staff are efficient. Double room is as expected pretty small, but we spend only sleeping hours in the room so it's adequate for the very reasonable price.

Good sized room, nice and clean. Friendly staff (only speak Japanese). The hotel is a bit of a walk from the station but quite close to a restaurant street. Breakfast was ok. Haven't found much to do in Akita so wouldn't stay here in the main city again. Off to Odate for the day today.

I visited during the Kanto Festival, and I saw the evening parade right through the window. It is also close to the festival night fairs. It took me 15 minutes from Akita station but the hotel is quite easy to find. The staff is polite and helpful. The room is clean and tidy. My package included breakfast in the eatery on the first floor but the place was way too small and got quite packed in the morning.
