::The kindness and hospitality of the host. Akira was super helpful and caring during my stay. He helped out in everything I need, even helped me to call to see if there's any instant film around. I ordered dinner which is not in my plan, food was well prepared and tasted fresh and yummy. The next day Akira drove me to the Monkey park, after that he went to pick fresh bamboo shoots from the mountain, which is the fresh food I ate the other night. Last but the most helpful mama, she so strong and kind, picked me up from the monkey park and helped caught the train back to town. Overall a perfect stay here and one of my best memories in this trip.

::An absolute gem, we loved our stay here. Akira and his family made us feel so welcome and cared for, it was a highlight of our trip to stay here. It is a must to opt for the meal options, the food is fantastic and so lovingly prepared. Both breakfast and dinner had multiple courses with so much to try; we were always well fed. The rooms are large, comfortable and traditionally decorated. The onsens are so hot and peaceful, and the ryokan is tucked in along a very cute road. If I come back to Japan I will absolutely be coming back here.

::Fantastic stay at the ryokan of Akira and Yumi. The room was amazing and the onsen was so nice to enjoy together. We could make a reservation for a time to have it private with mixed gender. Akira helped us out visiting the monkey park by bringing and picking us up. If you visit this town, stay here. It will be a very good experience!

::The place is charming, the host and his family are the kindest and will go out of their way to please you and help with your requests. The rooms are spacious and very traditional. There are two Onsen, both super relaxing and very well taken care of. Finally, the breakfast was delicious!

::I stayed at this Ryokan at the beginning of October, 2023. Akira-san was an extremely helpful and welcoming host. Akira-san even gave us a ride to the train station. This was my first visit to Japan and staying here was my favorite part! If you are looking for genuine Japanese hospitality, and an experience you won't forget, booking a stay at the Yamazakiya Ryokan is a must! If you have a bit of spending money, you must try the dinner they offer. Every dish was spectacular. The hot spring baths are private and soaking in them after walking around all day is heavenly. Seriously, you will not regret booking a stay here!
