::This ryokan is highly recommended!!! The rooms are very nice, traditional and comfortable. Even though it was very cold from the outside (it reached -2 when I stayed there), the room was very warm because there was a heater. This ryokan has a private onsen, hotel included, you only pay 150 yen/person for maintenance. I tried their breakfast and dinner, it was SO DELICIOUS! I think this food is very valuable❤️. This hotel is very close to the station, and the bus stop to Shiga Kogen/Snow Monkeys! the best part about this ryokan, the owner is very nice and welcomed me very well. I will go back there!

::Quaint little Ryokan within walking distance of the train station and bus stop to get you to the snow monkeys. The couple running it are super sweet and did everything to make sure our stay was perfect and with the use it google translate we were able to communicate quiet well. Breakfast was amazing and left us full for most of the day and was different each day. We had the place to ourselves and could go in the onsen any time we wanted so not sure what it would be like when busy, but there isn't many time so can't see it being too crazy.... like ask the onsens in the area though is crazy hot so let the cold water run before getting in. Rooms we spacious and had everything we needed, they have shared bathrooms so just make sure you know that going in, but that is part of the experience. Really good value for money and the experience alone was worth it.

::Such a beautiful place to stay, close to the national park and the owners are truly so sweet. They picked us up from the train station and were very attentive to all of our needs. They even set out some tea for us in our rooms, hot upon arrival. I highly recommend the Japanese breakfast at this Ryokan, it’s very cool experience.

::Very rustic, do not go there expecting five star hotel comfort. The bathrooms are shared, which is something you must expect from a ryokan. If you are there, it is because you want something more genuine than a European/American hotel. The owners are very nice people, the room is spacious, there is an actual private onsen bath on premises. The owners do not speak English or any other European language, but will gesture and use the words they know to help you out the best they can. I enjoyed my stay.

::Owners are just the sweetest people. Arrived with a swollen ankle and they scrambled to offer me topical medical pads, which really helped getting around. Room was spacious and overlooked the courtyard with running hot spring water. One of the most peaceful places I've ever stayed at. And very reasonably priced - if you're looking for an authentic ryokan experience at a good price, you can do no better. Will happily return, hopefully in better shape so I can enjoy the area a bit better.
