::The cappuccino is heavenly. The Curry udon with deep fried chicken is the best udon I have ever had. Patrons were arranged to scattered seats so that there wouldn’t be embarrassing eye contact after a loud slurping I guess. The thought and consideration is appreciated! Price is very reasonable. 300 yen coffee, 950 yen for udon w 2 pieces of mochi dessert.

::What a treat this was!!! After visiting Nara park and the temples, we wandered off to discover the town. Wanting to go to a sake brewery but needing to have something in our belly before hand, we stumbled upon this cute little VERY local place on our way there. We were warmly greeted upon entry and showed to a table inside this very local and traditional Japanese place. We were handed menus in English and the rest is history! You might have a laugh once you read the the first page of the menu, but the food was nothing short of AMAZING! The curry udon with Japanese fried chicken might be a contender for the best dish I've had in Japan! The prices are extremely fair and the place is cash only, but it says it before going in, so don't say you weren't warned. Will definitely recommend this place to anybody and everybody I know coming to Nara!

::Lovely place to dine if you're into Japanese eatery vibes. They don't have an English menu but you'll be fine just by translating through google lens or just ordering their set lunches and leave it up to fate, which was what we did. The staffs were all really friendly. Their food portion sizes were also really BIG. A lot of locals eat here so you know the food is definitely a hit

::This unassuming restaurant is a must try when you come to Nara. The decor inside is that of a traditional Japanese eatery, which you can see in the photos. But you come not for the decor but for the food, and it was spectacular. The curry udon was flavorful while udon noodles still maintained their chewiness. The other reviews were right that these are some of the best udon you will ever try. But the real highlight was their fried chicken, which was in between karaage and tempura. The batter was not as firm as that of karaage but it was not quite as light and fluffy as tempura. And it was to die for. The chicken was so moist and juicy inside. It was hard to imagine that it had been deep fried. Another highlight was the tempura squid, which is quite unusual in my experience and it was an inspiration.

::Very tasty homemade udon with bonito broth. The workers at the sake brewery across the street recommended this noodle shop for lunch after we did a sake tasting. Very worth a stop in. They specialize in udon noodles made there in the shop, and the quality shows. Most noodle bowls have bonito-based broth, and tempura and meat additions are available. English menu, too.
