  Small, clean rooms. We only spend time in the room to sleep, so no problem. Friendly staff at reception. The complimentary breakfast was delicious, good joice of food

  Decent value-for-money hotel in Ichibancho. Simple place, but well kitted out with everything you need.

  No frills business hotel, clean , compact and very reasonable rates. This hotel is not near the train station. It is about 20 min walk, located in between of shopping areas and Dogo onsen. It is conveniently located, and also within walking distance to the Matsuyama castle.

  This hotel wished to copy my Japanese residence card even though this is discriminatory and not mandatory. The staff need education on this matter - hence my low score.

  Toyoko Inn is a great chain of what they call 'business hotels' in Japan. Reasonable, comfortable, clean and comes with breakfast. It's about £40/night for a double room (two people) with breakfast. They also give you these really funny pyjamas you can wear in your room. They also have video on demand for only Y500 - loads of English, recent movies to watch in your room.
