::This is a family-style onsen hotel, so compared to a ryokan inn, the vibe is a little brighter and more casual. There's lots of entertainment (a paid game room, a big manga lounge, rentable board games) plus add-on experiences (camping, skiing, kayak tours on the lake) that I didn't take advantage of. The buffet food was solid (great variety, all normal quality). The onsen was awesome, nice and big with a sauna, a cooling bath, and kettle-style baths in one of the outdoor areas. I stayed in a large tatami room which was very spacious and comfortable! There were bugs outside and a roll of tape left by the door to catch any that came inside (a little offputting imo) but they weren't a problem. The shuttle bus is convenient and the hotel is close to a local bus stop, making it easy to access Lake Tazawa and Nyuto Onsen. I agree it's kind of a shame you can't see the lake from the hotel, but there's plenty to do so it's easy to stay in the hotel and relax. I really enjoyed it!

::Nice hotel. Small rooms by American standards. However, we were there to tour and did not spend much time in our room, so it's a bit of a moot point. But room were very clean. I also like the Ginza area. Onsen was good.

::Lots of parking and 9 min drive to Tazawako ski resort. Room was clean and spacious. Room came with hair dryer, towels, yukata, shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash. The dinner buffet on Friday night was not good for the price. The breakfast buffet was better and tolerable in comparison. The outside onsen were nice. Overall it was not worth the price Edit: I apologize if the review came off harsh. I would be more than happy to stay again and would recommend it to my friends. I would make the suggestion to skip the buffet though.

::Spend one day I. This resort before going to Nyuton onsen. It had a really good public bath, great facilities, open space, the room was nice and clean. Family friendly and there is a special shrine nearby which was beautiful during the snow season. Pay attention that there is no convenient store nearly. If you don’t order breakfast & dinner, don’t forget to bring something with you to eat!

::Conveniently located near the famous Tsurunoyu onsen, but with all the modern amenities. Unfortunately the best outdoor rotenburo was closed for repair. This was quite disappointing. The hotel has modern rooms, a very decent buffet, and even had what looked like two outdoor BBQ huts and a par 3 golf course.
