::Overall a very good budget hotel with basic amenities, rather good safety and really helpful and friendly reception staff. Love the fluffy bread with their butter and jam. Very strategic location as it is near to train station but not exactly in the middle of a busy street. The only complaint we had was the washer and dryer. The washers (we used two) were very dirty and dusty and our clothes became even dirtier after washing with wools of dust and other stuffs sticking to our clothes. The dryers (we also used two of them) were very inefficient. Took us 92 mins each to dry our clothes (for 5 days) but still they were not dried completely 😅 in the end we resorted to using hair dryer to dry them (because we were travelling to Kyoto the following day and there’s not enough time to air dry them). But I must say the hair dryer was indeed more powerful and I even thought of buying one of this brand’s one back home. So our suggestion would be, look for washer dryer elsewhere if you absolutely need to wash and dry your clothes 😅

::It's a different vibe here. Rooms are small however, you are Japan. The buffet breakfast is included in your room. Again you are in Japan. The customary breakfast is toast and broth. It was good toast and broth.

::We stayed in a private room in the annex of the hotel. It’s a room with a double bed and a small bathroom (that has a bathtub though) and just enough space to move around. It also had a small telly, a mini fridge, a few coat hangers by the entry but nothing to put away your clothes. We did get slippers, bathrobes, toothbrushes, towels and soap. If you’re looking for a cheap place that has the basic amenities then this is the hotel for you ! The staff was very helpful and spoke more or less English depending on the person and though the room was old it was cleaned everyday and we were given fresh towels daily. It’s not even a 10mins walk away from a subway station, there’s several arcades, restaurants everywhere and ikebukuro sunshine is a 20min walk away. However it is situated in the more « raunchy » area of ikebukuro, meaning there’s girls bars at every corner and plenty of love hotels. We walked around late at night several times and never had any problems but it’s good to know because we had no idea ! 😂 We told ourselves that we wouldn’t be there much anyway which was indeed the case, so it turned out just fine for us !

::Affordable hotel worth staying at but with a few flaws The costumer service was amazing, the staff treats everyone very well, having some time for yourself? No problem, the staff will try their best not to disturb you while you sleep in or read a book, the location was also amazing, it’s close to ikebukuro station west side and theres a bunch of grocery stores and conbini’s located around. However… There’s also a side that I didn’t like very much, I stayed 7 days but sometimes I wished I was gone already, I’ll list a few things… Something the staff/hotel can’t do anything about: my first night I didn’t have very good room mates one did his private stuff outloud in a room full of strangers, I’m not sure if this is common for hostel experiences but it was a bad first impression for me. Another thing about roommates is that it can happen someone doesn’t smell the best, but throughout the entire stay the stench just stayed in the air, I think as a tip I would give is for it to be manditory to air out the room at least once a day and maybe have something like room refreshers? Something the staff can do something about: the walls were VERY dirty and the lights within your bed are also way too bright, when my bunk mate turned on his light it woke me up and I was instantly awake… at 2 am… As for the walls, there was mold in the corner of my bed, there was a weird stain on a different wall and overall I feel like a rough cleaning hasn’t been done in a VERY long time. My friend who lives in Japan found it very strange that a hostel, even if it’s cheap, in Japan would be dirty. Conclusion; I do suggest going to this hostel if its a few days, the service was amazing and overall it was a pretty pleasant stay, however with the fact there is defenitely a mold problem (which is bad for one’s health) I think the hotel should do something about it.

::The hotel is a bit on the small side but it gives a bang for your buck! there was a little issue on our first day but nothing too major, probably just an honest mistake haha, The hotel itself is good for a quick vacation, not too much on scenic views but it is near a lot of other shops you might need necessities for. the Restaurant has an amazing atmosphere and a relaxing vibe, the food was delicious too! would recommend, 5/5★
