  The cutlet curry is good here. It's a considerable amount. Comes with a mini salad, miso soup, and iced coffee. That's 720 yen. I don't think it will make any money... I think it's a great store for Ibaraki University students nearby. There was a person who ordered a large serving of cutlet curry, and they were delivered a mountain of cutlet curry! !

  This is a famous store that has been open since the Showa era. I believe it is the oldest store in the Ibaraki University area that continues to use the same name and management. When I visited the store after 5pm on Saturday, the first day of the Obon holiday, the shutters were closed. When I returned just before 6pm, the store was open. When I asked the master at the time of checkout, he said that there is a mid-day break from around 3:30pm to around 5:30pm. I was seated at a former mahjong game table in the back of the store. Although time has stopped in the store since the Showa era, it is kept clean and the walls are not sticky. However, the menu consists mainly of fried foods, so be prepared for the smell of oil to stick to your body and clothes. I ordered a large serving of cutlet curry. It was an impossible amount considering the price, but I managed to eat it all. The curry is light and has just the right amount of saltiness and flavor with minimal spices. There are bad stories about the rice in other reviews, but it was delicious, probably because it was freshly cooked. It comes with salad, miso soup, and iced coffee, so it's quite reasonable. I was satisfied. There are old manga on the bookshelf, and if it's not crowded, you can relax. There was a doujinshi from the university's literature club on the bookshelf, and there was an advertisement for this shop. There was a poster for the play on it, so I think they advertised it in this pamphlet as well. I admire the master who has been sponsoring student culture since the Showa era. [Revisited on 24.07.11] It was hot so I had a coke. It's an authentic dish with large lemon slices.

  I tried a large serving of cutlet curry. My colleague had a large serving of hamburger curry! This comes with salad and coffee. The amount of rice was estimated to be about 2 cups, which was 780 yen for a medium amount, probably because this price is for university students since it is near Ibaraki University. This restaurant seems to have a lot of fans because of its good cost performance, consistent taste, and volume. The interior is a little dark and has a retro Showa feel to it.

  The store is located on the second floor, and you enter by going up a narrow staircase. I revisited the store I went to when I was in high school for the first time in 25 years. Consistent quantity and price. I ordered a large serving of cutlet curry. Comes with salad and miso soup. The cutlet is a two-tiered mille-feuille with three pieces of meat. The roux has a reassuring taste of medium spiciness. The roux is lukewarm. People who don't like it may not like it... The husband is doing it alone, so that's what makes it so charming! The cutlet is freshly fried. The price is low and I am very satisfied because I am a student at Ibara University nearby.

  Everything is cheap and good. The place can handle a group of 4 peoples. Be aware, the menu is only in Japanese. And if you take the big curry you should be aware that you need a big stomach to handle it ! (aka picture)
