::Very beautiful and gorgeous hotel. Staff were very friendly. Rooms and toilets were spacious and clean. Breakfast was a wide variety and delicious. Definitely recommend to get their breakfast!

::I stayed for two days this month. At check-in I asked for a late check out due to my flight schedule. The front desk staff informed me that I could stay for one to three additional hours for a fee of JPY 40,260 (US$271.51) I found this charge so outrageous that I asked the staff member to repeat it, so I was certain there was no misunderstanding. She repeated the JPY 40,260 charge. Of course, I declined. The staff asked me if I would be having breakfast on the next two mornings (an additional charge, of course.) I told her I hadn't decided. She advised me that I needed to let them know by 8 p.m. that evening. (I wondered to myself if everyone having breakfast the next day had been required to book it by 8 p.m.) As a side note, I had already paid for my two-day stay with my American Express card, so there was absolutely no concern about my being financially responsible for the charges. Conrad Hilton's mantra for his hotels was "Be Hospitable". The front desk staff and the Mito Plaza Hotel's policies were not.

::This hotel is opulent. We chose the suite and weren't disappointed. They are meticulous in every detail. The room was clean and polished. The service was very professional and stringent. A bit too much for me, since I'm used to the Hawaiian "aloha" and informality where I live. We asked for a late checkout since our flight wasn't until 9 PM. They charged 30% of our rate price for every hour after the 11 AM checkout time, and wouldn't budge. With that rate, we could get a hotel near Narita Airport for a day. Aside from that, we had excellent service. It is quite far from Mito town and train station, and there wasn't very much to see or do in the area surrounding the hotel. There is a chapel if you want to get married.

::Beautiful hotel with very friendly employees. The room was great with a nice bed and very clean, completely different with what we had in Tokyo. Inside the hotel was a terrace where we had a nice breakfast. The employees we met spoke also English.
