::Stayed there in May 2024 and could not have been more amazed. The villa is set in the most serene little town; there’s a little mountain nearby (with a mountaintop temple) that you can climb too! The amenities in the villa were incredible (heated floors, Japanese bathtubs!) and the food (breakfast, dinner) was consistently incredible. My favourite part of the whole experience has got to be the lovely staff - they went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed, gave us tips on where to go, taught us the history of the place - all in all, can’t recommend Oukai Villa Izumi enough! We’ll be back!!

::Absolutely wonderful stay with unmatched service and value if you are looking for a quality Japanese experience. Breakfast and dinner included was 5 star restaurant quality. Bamboo forest with stream and bridge blended well with the many cherry blossoms. 5 stars all around for an outstanding experience.

::Hospitality at its best! Shuttle to/from train station is included. We had several requests during our stay (asking for bikes, oil and soy sauce to cook etc.) and all was swift and happily granted. Very clean and spacious rooms. Quite secluded and thus good to relax after the buzzy cities of Tokyo and Kyoto.

::We have had an amazing time during our stay in late April. The staff recommended a beautiful nearby hiking trail. Which delivered some of the most beautiful scenery we have experienced on our whole trip. The accomodations are very modern on the inside while still blending in perfectly on the outside. Food was great and overall the staff was super nice, they even took us to the next JR station after our stay. Highly recommended! 5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ -Super nice staff (also very well in spoken english for international guests) -Great food -Beautiful accomodations and garden area -Beautiful hiking trail nearby

::The owner and staff here are very nice and helpful. Environment is traditionally Japanese, if you want to enjoy the culture, this is a wonderful place. The room is spacious and well finished. Minimalism and comfortable. The garden is Zen, magnificent and relaxing when you walk in it. Food is nice, wagyu beef, Japanese pork, mixed vegetables, all traditional, all high quality. I do really recommand here for everyone and especially for those who wants to have a real relaxing, getaway and Japanese tradition oriented vacation.
