I tore a ligament in my knee and had to have surgery. I was very worried when I was admitted to the hospital, but I was really surprised by what was happening. The hospital was very clean and the doctors and nurses were young and enthusiastic. The food is very tasty. It is also nutritious and delicious. The rest area is very private and reasonably located. Thank you very much.

Since April of this year, I have been under the care of the Department of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery for treatment of liver cancer. I still go to the clinic at least once a month for anti-cancer treatment. First, I came to the hospital for a second opinion. At a local hospital, he was told that the cancer tumor was too large to be operated on, so he came to this hospital. A magazine ranked us 3rd in the country for liver cancer treatment, so I came to the hospital feeling like I was grasping at straws. A relative of mine had given birth at this hospital in the past, so I decided to request treatment even though it was far from home. I was hospitalized and examined before Golden Week, and underwent surgery after Golden Week. The process from admission to surgery took just 10 days. Since his condition was worse than other patients, we were able to have him operated on first. I was hospitalized for a month and then discharged. The liver cancer itself has not recurred, but metastasis to the lungs was discovered two weeks after being discharged from the hospital, and he is currently being treated with anticancer drugs. It seems like I can live longer than my initial life expectancy, but I don't know what will happen in the future. The doctor in charge explains the treatment and examination itself in detail, so you can feel safe entrusting the treatment to the patient. The only problem is that it's a little far from home. If you use a taxi, it will cost 4000 yen one way.

We all know about the still existence of Covid-19 and accidents can happen when traveling, so here's the hospital tip. Founded in 1925, this university hospital is one of the most traditional in Osaka and even has a preventive medicine clinic located on the 21st floor of Abeno Harukas where checkups are performed. This hospital has about 965 beds and has several medical specialties. Being a university hospital, many of its doctors are interns or recently graduated from the medical school located in the complex next door, but in my opinion, the younger doctors are more interested in their patients than the older ones. This hospital is certified to treat foreign patients, but anyway, if you don't know how to speak Japanese, bring an interpreter. Consultations or hospitalizations can be paid with cash or credit card. The price for the first consultation with a clinical doctor is ¥7,000.

Osaka City University Hospital 大阪市立大学医学部附属病院, 1 Chome-5-7 Asahimachi, Abeno-ku, Ōsaka-shi, Ōsaka-fu 545-8586, Japan: I was here to see Minimally invasive spine surgeries performed by Associate Prof. Hidetomi Terai, M.D., Ph.D & other surgeons in the Dept. I got to learn a lot of new things from what I saw in these surgeries. I thank Dr. Terai & Prof. Dr. Hiroaki Nakamura M.D., Ph.D Chairman, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Osaka City University Graduate School of Medicine for this learning experience.
