::Seafood Izakaya Oga in Sapporo. Kinda full from grazing all day so we just focused on our favorites . This place specializes in seafood hot pots so we would love to revisit. Since there is still no counter seating due to COVID, we had a private tatami room. Hokkaido seafood is just the best - crazy fresh with snappy texture that smells and tastes right off the boat. My favorite was the ankimo which had the most incredibly soft texture almost cloud-like and pure flavor with no bitterness. I want another one right now! We also love the famous local veggies and butter. Simple potatoes and butter was just so incredibly good. The potatoes have the perfect starch/sugar content enhanced by the velvety butter. The Hokkaido tomato salad was so simple w a perfect egg in a light ponzu. Not fish, but we loved the texture of the Basashi sashimi which was flown in that morning from Kyushu . #ThefoodieTraveler #kuishinbo

::SuperDelicious, super fresh, super authentic japese, rare eats. Must Try!

::The food wasn't bad but there was so much surcharge. A seating fee, a 'welcome dish' fee (two tiny plates of pickles for 650 yen per person), and a service/cooking fee. The surcharge ended being 25% of the total meal. Please don't go there and encourage tourist trapping.

::I had a truly surprising meal, great sashimi, the freshest fluke, perfectly aged tuna, great shellfish, followed by monk liver, cod milt tempura, and a boiled hairy crab with it's brain sauce. Everyone was humourous, kind and helpful. I don't know how much English is understood here and that may explain some of the negative reviews. But the food was first rate. And if you can speak some Japanese, the atmosphere is fun and light.

::Not sure why charge cooking fee, first time to hear such fee in Japan
