Yesterday, I met an older woman at a convenience store and we started talking about hot springs. There's a hot spring near here (JR Shimono-Osawa Station). Eh, except for that part, for some reason. I've lived here for decades, and Katakuri is a public hot spring where people who love hot springs gather, but I've never heard anything like that. Right now, I'm desperately searching the internet and here I am (lol). A comment from a foreigner mentions "public bath". Now, let's find out what it is. However, the water is a hot spring?! It's an interrogative word, but it's still weird. However, it's not that big and is mainly aimed at overnight guests. Please, please refrain from day-trippers and bathers who are not from the area you know very well, and even more so, from high-class guests.

::Had a good stay here. It's a bit further away, but we were by car. In the evening there was Kendo practice going on, which was fun to see. There are communal baths, not so big but still nice. The beds were good, though they also have futons. There were almost no other guests so it was quiet. The place is a bit messy in a Japanese kind of way. Breakfast was good Japanese homecooking. Friendly staff!

::I had a relaxing time in nature. The parents were also very friendly people. Since there is a Kendo hall, the children were also happy to run around. The food is delicious and I am very satisfied.
