::Popular cafe especially amongst instagram couples and bffs who linger too long for one too many photos. It offers riverside fronting seats on both 1st and 2nd floors. I had a bowl of delicious cold matcha sweets with sencha tea on the side (first meal of the day☺️). They also have a tiny standalone tea and chocolate shop across the entrance.

::Very good location, their desserts are pretty good but on the sweet side… but still good, I’m able to eat all of them but I had a lot of matcha or houjicha elsewhere that had more dense flavour than this.

::Drinks and dessert were good but took a long time to make, 20 min wait. If you want more flavor, get a hot drink. Order at the kiosk and then look for a seat either at a table or at the window to get a view. Shop has two floors.

::The Nakamura Fujiyoshi Byodoin store, nestled about a 10-minute stroll from Uji station, is a hidden gem exuding old-world charm and tranquility. Situated by the riverbank, it immerses visitors in a traditional Japanese ambiance that feels like a step back in time. Upon arrival, the self-service ordering system streamlines the process, while the modern touch of receiving a pickup number at the counter adds convenience. Ascending to the second floor, window seats offer breathtaking views of the flowing river below, providing a serene backdrop for savoring matcha and desserts. The store impresses not only with its picturesque setting but also with its commitment to quality. The matcha and desserts served are of the highest caliber, reflecting the brand's dedication to excellence. Despite its modern touches, the Nakamura Fujiyoshi Byodoin store effortlessly retains the simple and timeless charm of its main Uji location. As the gurgling river meanders through the picturesque mountain village, patrons are treated not only to culinary delights but also to a soul-soothing experience. Overall, the Nakamura Fujiyoshi Byodoin store offers a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, making it a must-visit destination for matcha enthusiasts and seekers of serenity alike.

::chillax spot with a nice view, top quality matcha and pretty staff. the old wooden rustic feels of the building makes it comfy for those who find classic sense of deco pleasing. the environment is comfy and not too crowded. the ordering process is self-serve tho, did nid to use a google translator to order on the self-order ipad, as there was no English based option and there is no staff to take my order. but manageable. overall, a nice start to uji trip.
