::Comfortable, quiet and conveniently located. Make sure you hop onto the ferry and go to Takashima Island too. Like some people say, the AC system is about time to upgrade or renew , I was fine with the noise level (it's cold and strong for our Canadian taste ❤️ despite 40C+ hot outside) but the air purity is too damp/heavy than I like. Futon and pillow is full and supportive (I'm picky on hotel beddings) but it's not bad at all, we all had a good sleep and feel fresh the next day. It might have some smell but I guess it has to do with the location which has high humidity all time. I miss the experience and food already, will definitely come back. Thank you 🙏

::Our stay was enjoyable and relaxing - also a nice introduction for our daughter to experience a ryokan. The dinner and breakfast was thoughtfully prepared with nice views of the beach and Karatsu Castle.

::We stayed here in 2018. We stayed here and another Ryokan in the city but this was by far our favorite. Yes, the Ryokan is a bit smaller and older but this only adds to the atmosphere. We had a view of the sea and it was splendid, I'm not sure what the other rooms had but the garden out front was delightful, though I highly suggest getting a sea view room. The bathroom in the room was also the largest I have ever seen in Japan. And the onsen itself, while not modernized, is still charming and because the inn is so small, I had it all to myself. The food is incredible and a culinary tour de force. Our waitress didn't speak much English and we didn't speak any Japanese but I think we all managed to have a good time, supplemented by a gigantic encyclopedia of japanese food in English with color pictures. Everything was in harmony, from the porcelain to the presentation and finally the taste. The service is excellent. It felt very welcoming and cozy. Dinner and breakfast are served in the room.

::This is old-school ryokan in the best sense of the phrase. The staff (mostly older women) are warm and welcoming. The traditional rooms are quite fine. On the way to the baths, you'll pass through a room with large tanks containing fish and shellfish, you'll enjoy at dinner. The views out onto the bay are sublime. This place is special.
