::I went to open a new account, and after answering several questions at the reception desk, I was told to open a new account online, handed me a pamphlet, and was asked to go home. Naturally, I had researched in advance whether it was possible to set up an online service and had hoped to receive verbal explanations at the counter before proceeding, so this was a very disappointing response. Companies are probably working to reduce counter operations for various reasons, such as the recent coronavirus pandemic and reduction in counter staff, but banks can easily select users by conducting simple interviews with only the necessary information. I felt that the way I was treated was extremely unfriendly. Of course, it is largely up to the staff at the time of the visit, but the fact that the store is located in the center of Umeda, Osaka, has staff who can only provide this level of support, and I visited the store at 9am. It was very disappointing, as it happened right after the store had opened and there were hardly any customers, so there was no excuse for being tired early in the morning. I use both megabanks, but this is the first time I've seen such a response, and while it may be a sign of the times, I feel like they're using this as an excuse to change things for the worse.
