  We had s great time during our stay. The management prepared a single flower for my husband’s birthday. It’s simple gesture but it really meant a lot to us. We would definitely stay again at Mars GARDENWOOD Gotemba.

  Everything was perfect other than the receptionist’s service. A male staff at the reception served us and we found his service to be unprofessional and awkward. we were unsure if he was uncomfortable speaking English or just generally has a different attitude towards us than the locals. We’d been observing and he would greet locals very enthusiastically whilst toward us, he didn’t even greet a simple “good morning” while we greeted him. For a four-stars hotel, it’d be good to have someone at the front desk who can treat every customer equally and respectfully. However, other staffs were very polite and smiley the entire time.

  Our stay at the Mars Garden Wood Gotemba was splendid. The hotel is gorgeous and very quiet for a relaxing stay. Our check-in was smooth and handled with top-tier service as to be expected in Japan. Our room was beautiful and spacious with a private onsen and a great view of Mt. Fuji. The dinner and the breakfast included in our stay was delicious and fresh. Our dinner was timed perfectly as we were able to enjoy a beautiful water and lights show outside the window of the restaurant. Well worth the price and a peaceful stay after a busy day of shopping at the outlets.

  My favorite hotel in the world! Second time here and I hated to leave it so much I was tearing up. 🥲 What a wonderful place, so much I could tell you but you have to experience this gorgeous place to understand. The grounds are just amazing, the staff is remarkable and the rooms are absolutely lovely. We all had a most excellent stay and good rest before our trek up Mt. Fuji. Thank you to the staff member who took the lovely picture of our family in front of the beautiful Mt. Fuji painting in the foyer.

  Guest rooms are large, comfortable, and the cleanest I've experienced. The staff here is friendly, capable and very service-oriented. And there is nothing formulaic about their attitude; they are genuinely helpful. The hot spring baths are huge, clean and well maintained. Don't miss them. The restaurant food is excellent, including the breakfasts. The star of the show in Gotemba is Fujiyama, so pay a little extra to get a room with a view. (Note: the building in the center of the photo of Fujiyama is NOT the hotel.)
