Charming, vast and peaceful!! As a resort that accommodates large numbers of people during the busy season, it is a big space with many onsen pools. We visited in April and it was quiet, though as the weather turned with spring there seemed to be quite a few evening visitors. We found its vastness and the parts that others have described as run down, charming! As a stopover between Kyoto and Tokyo, its served us well. Quiet with space to feel relaxed in a culture that may seem more formal to some visitors. The service despite its relatively isolated location was still impeccable and friendly. Cant say much for surroundings as we didnt venture - and we ended up gettinf a taxi from the station for 3000 yen.

Hot spring located in the middle of nowhere. But thanks to that, there’s a little other people in the bathroom and I could enjoy the calm quiet time although it has huge and well equipped bathes. The equipments were no different from what you can see at spajapo or other super sentou. Though it was felt kind of odd and strange to take a bath in such a place with just 2 or 3 of other customers, the experience was good. I used Oyumaji, so it was free to take this picnic bath for me.

There's a constant noise in the room, making the nights difficult. Otherwise, the room and the services are good, there's few entertainment and relaxing area. The quality wasn't really there for the price I paid so I guess that you pay for the amenities. Unreliable wifi too.

Gorgeous indoor and outdoor hot springs with plenty of space. Really a bathing paradise. Food, drinks, massages. Doesn't get much better. Price is very reasonable too for such a spa day treat.
