::Love this little gem away from the bustling but very commercial shopping street from Kiyomizu-dera. Only 4 small table. We were lucky to get a seat immediately before they close the shop shortly. The owner will serve you tea while preparing your order. We ordered the red bean mochi. The red bean is so huge and nicely cooked to the right sweetness. It just heaven when it pairs with matcha. I don't mind to climb up the street again just for this authentic Japanese tea house!

::Japanese style deserts with sticky rice and beans. Simple but good quality. It’s not too crowded given this is prob one of the most touristy spot in Kyoto. Generally it’s a bit too sweet for my taste but they are supposed to be so.

::750¥ for 3 big pieces of ohagi. It was my first time but I liked the different types! It's in a cute rustic building in the middle of the bustling touristy area, but there was virtually no one there!

::Tiny cute and quiet tea house. We had matcha and 2 sweets which were new tastes for us, both were made of rice and beans, both were good. The interior is very charming, I recommend stopping by to take a quiet break from the crowd.

::Very unassuming place. It’s a gem! Traditional looking teahouse with good matcha and japanese sweet. You would have walked past it if you weren’t paying too much attention. It’s zen and a nice place to people watch.
